A field of 1,001 players is down to just three players, each looking to capture the coveted World Series of Poker bracelet, as well as the $952,694 first-place prize. Leading the way is Dan Smith with 6,620,000. He is followed by Kyle Julius with 4,435,000 and Panayote "Peter" Vilandos with 3,955,000.
Dan Smith was one of the hottest players entering the 2012 WSOP with three six-figure victories at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final in April. He has four WSOP cashes this summer and his fifth is guaranteed to be his largest career WSOP cash.
Kyle Julius also has four WSOP cashes this summer and has guaranteed himself his first live six-figure score with his performance in this event. However, he is no stranger to live success as this past January he earned $1,500,000 for his runner-up showing in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.
Panayote "Peter" Vilandos is looking to capture his third WSOP bracelet today. Back in 1995, he won a $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event and followed that in 2009 by taking down a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event.
