Rep Porter

Action folded to a short-stacked Rep Porter on the button and he put in a raise. Hans Minocha defended from the big blind and then led out on the     turn. Porter made the call and then called a bet on the   turn, though he gave it a lengthy consideration.

When the   peeled off on the river, Minocha bet and Porter called off for 14,000. Minocha shrugged and simply said, "Ace high."

It became obvious Porter also held an ace-high hand as he waited from Minocha to reveal his   . Porter winced and rolled over the losing   .

"You got walking around chips now or something, Sorel?"

So asked Rep Porter, noticing Sorel Mizzi having gotten up from the neighboring table for a short stroll. Mizzi laughed in response. "Yeah, I can go to the bathroom, get something to eat," he said before quickly retaking his seat to catch the next hand.

Mizzi can't really walk too far away, but he's definitely got a skip in his step after having dipped below 50,000, but now moved back up close to a quarter million.

Meanwhile things haven't gone so well of late for Terrence Chan who is sitting across the table from Mizzi. He's been on a downward swing, having lost pots to leader Vincent Gironda and Mizzi to slip below the 100,000-chip mark to the bottom of the counts.

Vincent Gironda raised from the button and was called by Sorel Mizzi in the big blind. The latter then checked the     and Gironda put out another bet. From there, Mizzi responded with a check-raise, Gironda called, and the   appeared on the turn.

Mizzi and Gironda engaged in a raising war that resulted in the former being all in for 77,000.

Showdown

Mizzi's kicker had him out in front, while the   on the river gave him to pair and the double.

Sorel Mizzi has been hanging on here during the first few four-handed orbits of Level 21. He's raised and claimed the blinds a couple of times, and even got a walk once, but lost a few back to Terrence Chan.

Just now Ronnie Bardah open-raised from the small blind, and when Mizzi three-bet from the big blind the pair continued the pattern until Mizzi was all in with    against Bardah's   . The community cards came      , and Mizzi continues to survive, although currently sits with a stack of less than six big bets.

There are only eight players remaining, which means once we lose one more, they'll combine to one table and head over to the stage in the Pavilion Room, though the official final table will not be set until just six remain.

Sorel Mizzi has now dipped into the danger zone following a big hand versus Ronnie Bardah. With the board showing     , Bardah (cutoff) bet and Mizzi (button) called. Then the river brought the   and a bet from Bardah which Mizzi raised. When Bardah three-bet, Mizzi went deep into the tank and after a couple of minutes let his hand go.

With the board showing     , Sorel Mizzi and Terrence Chan checked, Vincent Gironda bet, and only Chan called. The river brought the   and a check from Chan, and Gironda fired again. Chan thought for a while, then called, Gironda showed   , and Chan mucked.

Gironda is extending his lead as Level 20 nears its conclusion.

Vincent Gironda raised under the gun and then called a reraise from Sorel Mizzi in the small blind. Mizzi proceeded to lead out on the     flop, Gironda called, and the dealer burned and turned the  .

Again Mizzi bet, but this time Gironda announced a raise. Mizzi thought for a brief moment before making the call, and then both players checked the   river.

"Queen high," Mizzi said without showing his hand. It didn't matter though as Gironda turned over    for the winner.

Marco Johnson

Hans Minocha raised from the cutoff, Marco Johnson reraised from the button, and when it folded back around Minocha he just called. The flop came    . Minocha bet, Johnson raised, and Minocha called. Minocha checked and called Johnson's subsequent bets after the   turn and   river as well.

Johnson quickly tabled his hand —    — and with less haste Minocha showed his   .

Johnson has climbed up out of the danger zone now, while Minocha tumbles back a bit in the counts.

Sorel Mizzi raised to 16,000 under the gun and cleared the field to Ronnie Bardah in the big blind. He put in a three-bet to 24,000, Mizzi called, and it was off to the     flop, which saw a bet and call.

The   turn saw Bardah fire another bullet, but this time Mizzi raised. Bardah made the call and then check-called a bet on the   river only to see Mizzi roll over    for the nuts.

Chad Brown - 9th place

Just after Level 20 began, Chad Brown lost a large percentage of his stack in a hand in which after some thought he called a river bet by Vincent Gironda with the board showing      . Gironda tabled    and Brown mucked, left with about 35,000.

Soon after came a hand in which Brown raised from the button, Terrence Chan three-bet from the small blind, Gironda called from the big blind, and Brown called as well.

The flop came    . Chan bet, Gironda called, Brown raised for just a touch more with what he had left, and Chan and Gironda both called the raise. Both remaining players then checked down the   turn and   flop. Gironda turned over    for aces, and Brown nodded in recognition as he showed    for a lesser pair. Chan showed as well, but the dealer swiftly mucked his hand.

Brown wished the remaining players good luck and made his way to the rail.

Ronnie Bardah raised from the small blind and Sorel Mizzi called from one seat over. Bardah again bet the     flop, and when Mizzi raised Bardah called. The turn was the  , and it went check-bet-call as Mizzi had taken the initiative.

The river brought the   and another check from Bardah. Mizzi fired again, and this time Bardah check-raised, bringing a reluctant-seeming call from Mizzi. Bardah tabled    for a rivered set, and Mizzi patted the table in acknowledgment.

Terrence Chan raised from the button and Ronnie Bardah defended from the big blind. The     flop saw Bardah check, and Chan took the opportunity to bet. Bardah responded with a check-raise, Chan called, and then it went bet-call on the   turn.

Both players ended up checking the   river, and Bardah rolled over   , which was no good against the    of Chan.

Joep van den Bijgaart - 10th place

Two hands spelled the end of Joep van den Bijgaart's run.

In the first, van den Bijgaart raised from under the gun, Marco Johnson three-bet from the small blind, and van den Bijgaart called. The flop came    , Johnson bet, and van den Bijgaart called. The Dutchman also called Johnson's bet after the   turn, a bet which left Johnson with but 4,000 behind.

Johnson tossed his last 4,000 out in the dark before the   fell, and when van den Bijgaart called, Johnson showed    and van den Bijgaart mucked. Both players exhaled — Johnson with a thankful look for surviving, and van den Bijgaart with a more weary expression, as that hand had knocked him down under 35,000.

Soon after van den Bijgaart was opening from the cutoff and Hans Minocha called from the small blind. Minocha check-called bets on both the     flop and   turn, and van den Bijgaart had but about 5,000 left to toss out after the   river which Minocha called.

The all-in player tabled his hand —    — saying "probably not good?" Indeed it wasn't, as Minocha had the better two pair with   , and van den Bijgaart is out in 10th.

Marco Johnson raised under the gun and was immediately met with a reraise from Rep Porter in the cutoff. The rest of the field got out of the way, Johnson called, and it was heads-up to the     flop. Johnson check-called a bet, which brought about the   on the turn.

Again Johnson checked, but this time he opted to raise when Porter bet. The latter made the call and watched as Johnson fired the   river. Porter responded with a quick raise, and Johnson, who seemed to know he was in trouble, made a reluctant call.

Porter rolled over    for a full house, and Johnson simply shook his head and tossed his cards to the muck.

Action folded to Ronnie Bardah on the button and he raised. Sorel Mizzi responded with a reraise from the small blind, Bardah three-bet to 24,000, a call was made and the flop came down    . Mizzi checked, Bardah bet, Mizzi check-raised and Bardah three-bet all-in for 16,000 total. Mizzi made the call and discovered the bad news.

Showdown

Bardah:

Bardah had outflopped his opponent and did not relinquish the lead as the   appeared on the turn followed by the   on the river.
