Event #41: $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout

Dale Eberle had fallen all the way down to just 50,000 when he finally took a stand. Mathieu Jacqmin made it two bets form the button, and Eberle went all in for 50,000 total. Eugene Katchalov called in the big blind, and Jacqmin threw in the extra 10,000. Jacqmin and Katchalov checked down a board of      , and Eberle showed   . Eberle collected the pot, but is still severly short stack, at just 150,000.

Justin Pechie has taken control here after the dinner break and is up to 1,600,000.

In this hand against Eugene Katchalov, Pechie raised in early position and Katchalov called from the big blind. The flop came down     Katchalov checked, Pechie bet out, and Katchalov called. The turn came   Katchalov again checked, Pechie bet out and Katchalov called. The river came   Katchalov checked, Pechie again bet and this time Katchalov angrily tossed his cards into the muck.

The very next hand, Pechie raised it up under the gun, Dale Eberle re-raised on the button, and Stephen Bass called in the big blind. Pechie called the raise and the three saw a     flop. Bass checked, Pechie bet, Eberle raised, and both players called to see the   turn. Bass and Pechie checked to Eberle who bet and both players called. The river came   and Bass bet out, Pechie raised, Eberle angrily folded, Bass re-raised, Pechie re-raised once more and Bass was all in. Both players showed    and they chopped the pot with the straight. Eberle fell to only 180,000 after the hand

One hand later Eberle raised it up in the cutoff, Bass re-raised from the small blind, and Pechie re-raised again from the big blind. Both players called and they saw the flop of    . Bass checked, Pechie bet, Eberle folded and Bass called to see the   on the turn. Again, Bass checked, Pechie bet, and Bass called. The river was the   and once again, Bass checked, Pechie bet, and Bass called. Pechie showed    for a flopped set to take down the pot.

Pechie is up around 1,600,000 and after that last hand Bass is down to only 200,000. With some real short stacks at the table now, we are likely to lose some more players very soon.

Dale Eberle and Justin Pechie are two players that have been going in opposite directions since returning from dinner break, and that is due largely to big pots that they've played together. In the first hand, Eberle raised preflop and got a call from Justin Pechie in the big blind. The flop came    , and Pechie check called a bet from Eberle. Both players checked the   on the turn, and the river came the  . Pechie bet out, and Eberle called. Pechie showed    for a pair of sevens, and it was good enough to take the pot.

A few hands later, Eberle raised preflop, and once again, Pechie was the only caller. The flop caome out    , and this time, Pechie check raised Eberle. He called, and the turn brought the  . Pechie bet out, and Eberle called again, as he did when the   hit the river. Pechie showed   , and his queen kicker gave him the pot, as Eberle showed an inferior   . That pot has given Pechie the chip lead with six players left.

Action folded to Jordan Rich who raised in the small blind, and Mathieu Jacqmin made it three bets. Rich responded with a fourth bet, and Jacqmin capped it. Rich called, and the pot already had 200,000 going to the flop, which was    . Rich checked, and Jacqmin bet. Rich raised, and Jacqmin called. The turn brought the  , and Rich bet. This time, Jacqmin raised, and Rich called. The river brought the  , and Rich checked. Jacqmin bet out, and Rich relutantly folded, giving the pot to Jacqmin.

Mathieu Jacqmin raised it up from under the gun, Dale Eberle called from early position, and Jordan Rich called from the big blind.

The flop came down     and Rich bet out for 15,000, Jacqmin called and Eberle folded.

The turn came   and Rich bet out 30,000. Jacqmin instantly raised to 60,000 and Rich though for a while before finally making the call.

The river was the   and Rich checked to Jacqmin who bet out again for 30,000 and Rich tossed his hand to the muck.

Jacqmin is up to 905,000 after the hand while Rich is down to 765,000 right before the dinner break.

After a few pots that were won with one raise, Eugene Katchalov has won a couple pots that have upped his stack to over a million. First, Justin Pechie raised, and Mathieu Jacqmin called on the button. Katchalov raised in the big blind, and both opponents called. The flop came       , and it was checked to Jacqmin. He bet out, and Katchalov check raised. Pechie folded, and Jacqmin called. The turn brough the  , and when Katchalov bet, Jacqmin folded.

The next hand, it was folded to Katcahlov in the small blind, who raised. Stephen Bass called, and the flop came    . Katchalov bet out, and Bass raised. Katchalov called, and they both checked the   on the turn. The river brought the  , and Katchalov bet out. Bass called, and Katchalov showed    for two pair. Bass folded, and Katchalov collected another pot.

Mathieu Jacqmin raised in late position, and Eugene Katchalov reraised from the big blind. Jacqmin responded with a four bet, and Katchalov called. The flop came out    , and Katchalov check called Jacqmin's bet. The turn came the  , and this time Katchalov check folded. Katcalov lost some chips, but is still sitting in second behind Jordan Rich.

Dom Denotaristefani raised it up on the button, Stephen Bass re-raised and Denotaristefani made the call.

The flop came down     Bass bet, and Denotaristefani called to see the   turn.

Bass checked the turn, Denotaristefani bet out, and Bass check-raised him. Denotaristefani put out one last raise that put him all in and Bass called.

Denotaristefani showed    for a pair of aces but Bass had him crushed with    for two pair. The river was a meaningless   and Denotaristefani hit the rail with his third cash and second final table in Limit Hold'em for the 2011 WSOP.
