Chris Overgard managed to score a crucial double-up earlier in this blind level, but he's just busted in 12th place by Scott Clements, who is now well over 600,000 in chips.

It did take Clements two bites of the cherry in order to do it though - earlier in the level, on a flop that read    , Clements and Overgard got their money into the middle after some heavy post-flop action. Clements showed    for the gut-shot, but trailed Overgards'    all the way as the turn and river was spread  ,  .

However, that double-up was short-lived. A few hands later, the action folded to Overgard who raised from the button before Clements three-bet it from the blinds. Overgard called, then they got all their money into the middle after the flop of    .

Clements
Overgard:

Neither the turn of the   nor the river   were of any help to Overgard and he was given his marching orders. If it was any consolation (which we're pretty sure it would be), Overgard was the first player to make five figures in this year's event. Well played, sir!

Scott Clements has been tearing it up on his table, now up to 590,000 in chips after taking a big pot off Bill Davis before eliminating Bryan Pimlott.

Earlier, Clements came in with a raise and the action folded around to Davis who called from the small blind to go heads-up to a flop of    . Davis check-called Clements after the flop, then did the same on the turn of the   and the river  . Clements'    were more than enough to take that pot down and become the first person to move past the magical 500K chip mark.

A short time later, the action folded around to Pimlott who came in with a button raise; Clements three-bet it, but Pimlott shot back with the four bet. Not to be deterred, Clements five-bet it, so Pimlott opted to just call, leaving himself with just 2,000 as they went to the flop of    .

Both players elected to just stick the chips in and table their cards:

Clements:
Pimlott:

The turn and river ran out  ,   and Pimlott was no more. If it was any consolation, Pimlott was the first player to bank

Jeff Williams has followed Paul Schumer to the rail in 14th place after being busted at the hands of Harrison Wilder.

The action folded to Thomas Jamieson who raised from early position; Wilder reraised from middle position but Williams four-bet it. Jamieson got out of the way as Wilder called to go heads-up to a flop that read    .

Wilder checked, Williams bet all-in and Wilder called, tabling    for the nut flush draw against Williams'   . Despite having "got it in good", Wilder binked the   on the turn, and with the river   nothing more than a formality, Williams headed out of the Amazon Room to collect $9,467 for his efforts.

Sunday, June 5, 2011 1:52 PM Local Time

Despite having doubled up in one of the first hands of the day, overall short stack Paul Schumer has bowed out in 15th place.

Earlier, Schumer committed his last 26,000 chips into the middle before the flop with   , ahead of Bryan Pimlott's   , pairing his ace on the flop to double up.

A short time later though, Schumer's fate was sealed. The action folded around to Scott Clements who came in with a raise and then Schumer reraised all-in for just 7,000 more. Bill Davis called from late position, as did Clements before they checked down the board of      .

Davis showed   , which was good against the    of Clements and the    of Schumer. Schumer collects $9,467. Not bad for 15 minutes' work in one day!
