In early position, Pekka Ikonen opened the pot with a 60,000-chip raise. The action folded to Allan Bække in the small blind, who popped it to an additional 70,000 chips.
In the big blind, Shawn Busse re-popped to 370,000 chips. Ikonen folded and Bække moved all in. Busse snap called.

For the second straight hand, Owen Crowe opened with a raise to 60,000 from middle position. The first time all folded, but this time Chuan Shi announced an all-in reraise from the cutoff seat for his last 350,000 or so.
The button and blinds got out, and Crowe took just a short while before tossing his cards to the dealer as well.
Shi is back up to about 440,000, while Crowe still has 1.17 million.

In the very first hand of this final table, Allan Bække opened the pot with a 55,000-chip raise in middle position.
The action folded to Chuan Shi in the bid blind, who popped it to 140,000. Bække called.
The flop ran out and Shi fired a 225,000-chip bet. Bække called. The turn card was a and Shi check-called a 165,000-chip bet from Bække.
The river brought a to the felt and Shi check-folded to a 300,000-chip bet from his opponent.
Bække is now up to 2,200,000 chips and Shi slipped to 350,000.

Following the player introductions, WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla came on to say a few words in tribute of the late Amir Vahedi. In addition to the gold bracelet and first prize money, the winner of this event will be receiving a special box of cigars as a way of recognizing Vahedi's life and career.

Wenlong Jin hails from Shanghai, China. He begins today's final table as the short stack. Previously an electrical engineer, Jin is now a full-time poker player. He has two cashes at this year's WSOP, plus another from 2008, but wherever he ends up today will be a career best for Jin.

Chuan Shi of Plano, Texas begins today sixth in chips. Shi is just 21 years old, and began playing poker just a couple of years ago. As is the case with some of our other final tablists, marks Shi's first significant cash.

Jason Mann of Hermitage, Arkansas starts out today's final table in seventh place among our final nine. Mann is self-employed as the owner of Mann's Tower Service. His nickname is "The Super Weez." This marks Mann's first WSOP final table, although he's come close a couple of times before, finishing 10th in a $3,000 no-limit hold'em event in 2006 and 22nd in the $5,000 Mixed Hold'em event in 2007.

Ilya Andreev of Rostov-on-Don, Russia starts today right in the middle in fifth place of our remaining nine. The 27-year-old is married and the father of a one-and-a-half year old girl. This is his first WSOP final table.

Allan Bække of Frederiksberg, Denmark begins today just a few chips behind the leader, Adam White. Today Baekke hopes to add a WSOP bracelet to his already impressive list of accomplishments on the European Poker Tour, the highlight of which being a victory at the EPT Snowfest Main Event where he bested a field of 546 to earn a €445,000 payday.

Shawn Busse of Massapequa, New York starts the final table third in chips. This marks Busse's first WSOP cash, although he has had success on the WSOP Circuit, the EPT, and the WPT. He largest previous score was in April of this year when he took fourth in a €2,000 no-limit hold'em event at EPT San Remo, earning €70,000.

Owen Crowe of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia will start play fourth in chips today. The Canadian has more than a half-dozen WSOP cashes already, including a couple of final tables at a $1,500 no-limit hold'em event in 2008 (where he finished eighth) and another at a $1,500 NLHE event in 2009 (where he took fifth). His biggest career score came at the 2008 WSOP Main Event, where he finished 15th, earning $436,201. Crowe's career earnings exceed $1 million. One other interesting fact about Crowe -- he's an avid knitter.

Pekka Ikonen of Helsinki, Finland starts as one of the shorter stacks today in eighth place. Ikonen works as a business controller in Helsinki. He has seven previous WSOP cashes and career tourney earnings that exceed $700,000.

Adam White of Tempe, Arizona begins today's final table with a slight chip lead over Allan Baekke. White has over $450,000 in career tourney winnings, and already has a couple of WSOP cashes to his credit this summer, including a 28th-place finish a few days ago in Event #44, the $2,500 Mixed Hold'em event. Today marks White's second career WSOP final table, as he finished runner-up in a $1,500 NLHE event in 2005.

Welcome back to today's final table for Event #47, the fifth of the six $1,000 buy-in, open-field no-limit hold'em events on this year's WSOP schedule. Out of 3,128 runners, just nine remain, each of whom will be fighting for his first WSOP gold bracelet.
Adam White starts today as the chip leader. White is also the one player of our final nine who has come the closest to winning a bracelet before, having finished runner-up in a WSOP bracelet event in 2005. Close behind him is Allan Baekke who showed at the EPT Snowfest Main Event earlier this year that he knows how to finish, having bested a tough field there to come out on top.
Action is set to start at 2:30 p.m. local time. Come back then to see who among the final nine claims the bracelet and turns that $1,000 investment into nearly half a million!
