A nice river for Steven Cowley on the           board -- he'd raised from the button with     and Rep Porter called; Porter bet out on the flop and again on the turn and then both players checked the river. Neither had a flush, but Cowley made a bigger two pair on the river to beat Porter's    . Porter managed to lose another big hand to Tommy Hang, leaving him on just 46,000, and was in some trouble. So when Porter found     under the gun he raised, and then called a reraise from Jameson Painter one seat down. Porter got his last in on the       flop... but Painter was only too happy to call with his pocket    , and with not enough help from the   turn or   river, we are down to eight.

Steven Cowley reraised out of the small blind to a raise from Danny Qutami (Jared O'Dell was in the hand too, but thought better of it on the flop). Cowley bet out on every street of the           board and Qutami called all the way down. Cowley flipped     and Quttami just mucked.
Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:51 PM Local Time
Marc Naalden dipped down to 810,000 when Alex Keating made a rather lovely full house holding     on an           board. Naalden mucked. He was able to get back up to the heady heights of 880,000 though on the very next hand. He found     in the small blind and big blind Tommy Hang stayed in until the river of the           board where he mucked to Naalden.

Jared O'Dell raised from the button and Ian Johns (or Ewan Jones, as the TD announced him when we started) called out of the big blind. Johns check-raised on the       flop and then bet out on the   turn and again on the   river. O'Dell called, but mucked when Johns flipped     for the flopped straight. Johns: reaching for the sky on 220,000 O'Dell: crashing down to earth on 120,000

More downward movement for Rep Porter after he mucked to Jared O'Dell's     on the river of a           board. Porter: 167,000 O'Dell: 200,000

Steven Cowley and Jameson Painter got involved when Marc Naalden raised and Steven Cowley reraised from the cutoff. Over to Painter in the small blind who four-bet, Naalden folded and they saw a flop. Painter bet out on the       flop and again on the   turn, but just check-called on the   river. Cowley turned over pocket     to put him up to 345,000; Painter mucked and is down to 142,000.
Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:33 PM Local Time
Rep Porter raised up his small blind and Jameson "Pumpkin" Painter called in the big blind. Porter bet out on the       flop and again on the   turn and Painter called him on both streets; they both checked the   river and Painter took it down with just    .
Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:28 PM Local Time
Tommy Hang got a few of his chips back after his pocket     stayed good on an           board. Marc Naalden turned over     for a flush draw that had made a smaller pair than Hang's on the river.
Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:24 PM Local Time
Danny Qutami has taken a little chunk out of Alex Keating after playing a hand passively until the river of the           board, when he bet out. Keating passed, and the pot belonged to Qutami.

Once again Marc Naalden raised, but this time Tommy Hang reraised from the cutoff. Naalden called. Flop:       Naalden checked, and then raised a bet from Hang. Call. Hang just check-called the   turn and also the   river -- and then mucked when Naalden turned over     for a straight. Hang down to 115,000.

First blood goes to chip monster Marc Naalden after he raised from the cutoff and got called by Steven Cowley in the small blind. Naalden checked the       flop but put in a bet when Cowley checked to him again on the   turn. Cowley folded, and the pot was his.

Jameson Painter's three incredibly dedicated friends from last night are back today to rail him -- and today they've made a banner! Bless their hearts, they've constructed a sign with the legend "PUMPKIN PATCH" on it and a little picture of Mr Painter; they're waving it around and politely calling out, "Pumpkin!" at every available opportunity. Totally heartwarming.

Everyone is here, and the chips are being stacked. Any second now...
Sunday, June 21, 2009 12:45 PM Local Time
Welcome back to Day 3 and the final table! ESPN has taken a little holiday today so there will be no televising or anything like that to get in the way of the high-speed limit action. Marc Naalden is our chip leader and has been since halfway through play last night. He'll be hoping to become only the second Dutchman ever to win a bracelet; but to be honest, it's still anyone's game. No players yet, just a couple dealers arguing about the correct way to fan a deck, but we're scheduled to start at 2pm. See you then.
