After a full 12 hours in the Amazon Room today, Greg Mueller has claimed the World Championship crown in Limit Hold'em.
He beat a field including Phils Ivey and Hellmuth, Brunsons Todd and Doyle, and of course Jennifer Harman, who wrote the book on this game, to take first place money as well as the coveted bracelet.
Eagerly railed by a keen army of friends and supporters hollering Mueller's war cry, "Sui!" around the card room for the whole day, the enthusiasm of the rail seemed to propel him forward through an absolute rollercoaster of a final table, where everyone had their turn at being chip leader. Nonetheless it was Mueller who lasted the longest, and he fully deserves his brand new World Championship bracelet.

Nope, that's it.
Mueller raised the button, and Pezzin called.

Pezzin bet out, and then called all in to the raise.

Oh deary deary me. Pat Pezzin is down to just 150,000.
He called a button raise from Mueller, and both checked the
flop. Pezzin bet out on the
turn and Mueller called, and Pezzin decided to check-call the
river.
Mueller flipped
for trips, and a dejected Pezzin handed the chips over.
Check this out:
Mueller: 5,400,000
Pezzin: 150,000

Pezzin was soon back down to 550,000 though, after his
was no good against Mueller's
on a
board.
Thursday, June 18, 2009 12:00 AM Local Time
Pezzin again raised his button and Mueller once again called. In a deja-vuey sort of way, Mueller check-called all the way down the
board, but this time it was Pezzin who would take it down. Pezzin flipped
and Mueller could only boast king-high.
Pezzin's back up to 1.2 million.

First hand back, Greg Mueller managed to make two pair with his
on an
board. Pezzin called him all the way, and boosted Mueller's chip lead to 4.2 million.
A few hands later and Pezzin raised his button. Mueller called, and then check-called every street of the
board. Pezzin could boast the not very good nine-high, and Mueller's
took the pot.
Mueller: 4.65 million
Pezzin: 900,000

Brown:
Mueller:
Board: a straightalicious
Thus to shouts of "Sui!" from Mueller's railers, Brown is our third place finisher, and at long, long last, we are heads up.

Wow, Pat Pezzin is making a real comeback here.
He raised from the button and was called by Greg Mueller in the big blind which left them staring at a
flop. They both checked.
Mueller checked the
turn too and Pezzin bet; Mueller called and they looked down at
river. Mueller checked once more and insta-called the bet from Pezzin -- but Pezzin showed him
for the straight, and Mueller mucked.
Pezzin's now up to 1.7 million, with Mueller still leader on 3.3 million and Chad Brown down to a piddling 450,000.

Most unusually, Pat Pezzin limped in on the button and Chad Brown raised from the small blind. Call.
Brown bet out on the
flop and the
turn and got himself called by Pezzin, and finally Brown check-called the
river. Pezzin turned over
and is up 1.2 million; Brown meanwhile is our new short stack on 900,000.

Greg Mueller has extended his chip lead to 3.6 million -- well over half the chips in play -- after his

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 10:54 PM Local Time
This tournament may never end.
Last hand before the break, and it's a full double up for Pat Pezzin to 950,000.
Chad Brown raised the button and Pezzin called in the big blind.
Come the
flop Pezzin check-raised and then called all in to a reraise. Brown had top pair with
but Pezzin had a flush draw and a gutshot with
, the latter of which came in on the
turn. An irrelevant
on the river, and Pezzin was up to 950,000, Brown down to 1.55 million.

Mr Daniel Negreanu has appeared to rail.
Drunk railer: "Daniel, you're the best player ever!"
Negreanu: "Thank you. I disagree, but thank you. Have you ever seen Phil Ivey? He's scary."
Drunk railer: "Ok, you're the best Canadian player ever."
Negreanu: "Oh, screw that."

Blind on blind, Greg Mueller raised and Pat Pezzin called.
Mueller kept up the aggression on the
flop -- he led out, and then three-bet to a raise from Pezzin, who called.
Bet-call, bet-call on the
turn and
river, at which point Mueller flipped over pocket kings to take the pot. Nice.
Mueller: 2.9 million
Pezzin: right back down to 450,000

Meanwhile not much change between the big stacks.
Greg Mueller raised his button and Brown called in the big blind, but barring a bet from Mueller and a call from Brown on the turn, they checked down the
board and Mueller took it down with

Mueller: chip leader on 2.7 million
Brown: chip runner-upper currently on 2.2 million
