Russell Flops the Nuts to Double Off Coelho

Diogo Coelho became involved in an all-in pot for the third consecutive hand, this time against Charles Russell.

Russell opened to 800,000 in the cutoff before Coelho three-bet to 2,200,000 in the small blind, Russell jammed for 11,675,000 and Coelho snap-called.

Coelho had Russell dominated but was left drawing dead after the     flop gave Russell the nut flush. The board ran out    and Coelho paid off another double up.

Garrett Bok Eliminated in 35th Place ($300,000)

Kyosuke Nagami jammed from the button and Garrett Bok called off his stack of 6,400,000 from the big blind.

Bok picked up a Broadway draw on the     flop and then had counterfeit outs on the   turn. However, the   river gave Nagami a full house, to bring the tournament to its final 34 players.

All In And a Chop For Szwarcberg

Action folded to Tomas Szwarcberg in the small blind who moved all in for 4,250,000. Diogo Coelho called in the big blind to put an opponent at risk for the second consecutive hand.

Both players had the same hand as the     left Szwarcberg freerolling to a backdoor flush. The   turn ensured a chop pot and the   completed the board.

Erlandsson's Descent Continues

Daniel Erlandsson raised to 1,300,000 in the small blind and Yake Wu defended his big blind. The     flop saw Erlandsson bet 1,000,000 chips and Wu call.

Both players then checked the   turn before the   fell on the river. Erlandsson fired 2,200,000 chips and was quickly called by Wu.

Erlandsson hesitantly turned over    for king-high, while Wu won the pot with    for a pair of tens.

Brian Kim opened to 800,000 from the cutoff and Aliaksandr Shylko defended his big blind out of his short stack.

Shylko check-raised to 2,875,000, leaving just 50,000 behind over a bet of 450,000 on the     flop. Kim moved all in and Shylko put in his last two chips after spending a few minutes in the tank.

The   turn kept Kim ahead and the   river gave him the checkmark.

2023 PSPC winner Shylko exited in 36th place for $250,000. His elimination also means the remaining field have made the next payjump, where the payout is $300,000.

Sagle Leverages Position

Jonathan Tamayo opened to 800,000 from middle position and Niklas Astedt three-bet to 2,200,000 in late position. Jason Sagle called on the button, as did Tamayo to generate three-way action heading to the flop with a large pot brewing.

Both Tamayo and Astedt checked following the     flop. Sagle bet out 2,300,000, getting two folds to chip up without showdown.

Yake Wu raised to 800,000 on the button and Joe Serock called in the big blind. Following the     flop, Serock checked and subsequently called a bet worth 600,000.

Both checked through the   turn and the   river brought with it a bet of 900,000 by Serock. Wu only contemplated it for a short while and then folded.

Jeremy Ausmus Ties Phil Hellmuth's Single Series WSOP Final Table Record

Jeremy Ausmus Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth has multiple World Series of Poker (WSOP) records. But there's one that he now shares with Jeremy Ausmus, a six-time bracelet winner (maybe seven-time soon?).

Ausmus, a Poker Hall of Fame nominee, has reached the final table of Event #91: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. (8-Handed). In doing so, he not only has moved into first place in the WSOP Player of the Year race, but has also made history.

Latinois Leaves Xiao on Fumes in Massive Pot

Malo Latinois

Shundan Xiao raised to 800,000 under the gun as action folded around to Malo Latinois in the big blind, who three-bet to 3,200,000. Xiao called and they went heads-up to the     flop.

Latinois bet 1,750,000 and Xiao came back with a raise to 4,000,000. Latinois called and they both checked the   turn.

Latinois resumed betting on the   river, putting out 5,000,000. Xiao spent several minutes in the tank but eventually called as Latinois turned over    for two pair. Xiao mucked and Latinois took down the massive pot to increase his chip lead, while Xiao was left with just six big blinds.

Wu check-called Franchi's bet of 600,000 on the     flop before Frachi made it 1,550,000 to go on the   turn.

This time, Wu check-folded to the bet, granting the pot to Franchi.

Jordan Griff raised to 5,050,000 from his 7,100,000 stack from early position. Garrett Bok jammed for 5,300,000 from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Griff called.

The     gave Bok a backdoor flush opportunity but the   turn denied that possibility. However, the   river put a straight on the board, and the two players chopped up the blinds and ante.

The following hand, Bok moved all in, which wasn't called and he picked up a few more chips.

Brian Kim opened to 800,000 from the cutoff with the    and Aliaksandr Shylko defended his big blind with the   . Shylko check-folded to a bet of 450,000 to chip down some more.

On the next deal, Yegor Moroz made it 800,000 from middle position with   . Kim three-bet to 2,450,000 from the hijack with   , folding out the rest of the table to take down consecutive pots.

Moroz tried his luck again the following hand, raising to 800,000 with the   , and his rail erupted when the remaining players returned their cards to the dealer.

Coelho Keeps His Foot on the Gas

Getting four-bet by Giovanni Zanette didn't slow down Diogo Coelho, who immediately raised again to 800,000 on the button.

Zanette called in the big blind and they saw a flop of    . Coelho bet 700,000 and Zanette called.

The turn was the   and Coelho bet 2,400,000. Zanette folded this time.

Coelho then raised to 800,000 the next hand, but was then faced with an all-in shove from Daniel Zadok for 7,450,000 on the button. Coelho quickly folded.

Brian Rast bet the heads-up turn of      for 2,400,000 on the button and Yake Wu in the big blind asked about his stack size before before he moved all-in. Rast pondered about it for a short time and folded.

Moments later on the other outer table, Kevin Theodore moved all-in from an early position for 1,050,000 one hand after he had lost most of his stack. Guillermo Sanchez Otero three-bet to 1,650,000 from the next seat and everyone else folded.
