Ashby Takes From Owen

Richard Ashby:   /    /
Adam Owen:   /    /

With queens showing, Richard Ashby took the betting lead on fourth, fifth and sixth street and each time Adam Owen came along quickly.

On seventh, Ashby fired once again. Owen took a longer time to call this time as he thought it out substantially before tossing in the call.

Ashby tabled the boat and took a nice pot away from the chip leader.

Mengqi Chen:   /    /

Hal Rotholz raised and received a call from Mengqi Chen.

Rotholz continued to fire on fourth street then committed the rest of his stack on fifth street with Chen calling to put him at risk.

With two cards to come, Rotholz was ahead with his trip fives. Chen, however, managed to make a flush to leave Rotholz hoping to fill up on the river. Unfortunately for Rotholz, he was unable to do so, forcing him to exit in eighth place.

Kupin Gets Early Double

Aaron Kupin:    /
Mengqi Chen:   /    /

Mengqi Chen opened and action folded around to Aaron Kupin. He went deep into the tank as he considered a decision that was likely for his tournament life. After some time, Kupin put in the three-bet with Chen flatting.

Chen check-raised a bet from Kupin on fourth street. Kupin called off for his remaining chips.

Chen had been ahead with his pair of aces, but Kupin managed to make a straight to double and survive.

Shack-Harris Goes for Third Bracelet in Day 3 in Event #32: $1,500 Seven Card Stud

Brandon Shack-Harris

Day 3, the final day of Event #32: $1,500 Seven Card Stud at the 2024 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has just 9 players remaining from the field of 406 as they all aim for the top prize of $113,725 out of the $542,010 prizepool and the WSOP gold bracelet.

Leading the pack is Michael Noori, who holds 2,310,000. He won the Monster Stack in 2021 for his only career bracelet and will be looking to add a second one to the collection today.

Adam Owen will be in second with 2,190,000 as he looks to remove himself from the conversation of best players without a bracelet to their name, while fellow countryman Richard Ashby rounds out the top three with 1,750,000.

$25k Fantasy Draft pick Hal Rotholz (510,000) is in fourth place to start the day and right behind him is bracelet winner Chris Tryba (320,000).
