No Slowing Down from Smith

There was a raise to 1,700 in early position followed by two callers. Michael Smith squeezed to 8,500 in the cutoff and was only called by Rick Aasen on his left.

The flop came     and Aasen check-called a bet of 4,500 from Smith. The turn brought the   and Aasen checked again. Smith fired out a bet of 9,000 but Aasen check-raised to 27,000 which Smith called.

The river was the   and Aasen checked for the final time. Smith splashed in a bunch of chips, putting Aasen to the test for his remaining stack but Aasen opted to lay his hand down.

Carr Drives the Action

A player in early position raised to 1,800 and got called by Steve Carr in the big blind to bring out a     flop.

Action checked through and the dealer put the   out on the turn.

Carr decided to hop in the driver's seat and lead with a bet of 2,200. His opponent in early position called to see the   fall on the river.

Carr led out once again, this time for a bet of 3,800. His opponent decided to hit the brakes and toss his cards into the muck, sending the pot in Carr's direction.

Sau Turns Up the Heat

Rakesh Mabela raised 1,600 from late position and Steve Sau came over the top for 4,800 from the button.

Mabela checked the     flop and Sau tried 3,300, which Mabela called.

When Mabela checked again on a   turn, Sau increased the heat to 12,500, and Mabela left the kitchen.

Agarwal Jams into Thibodeau

The action was caught on this monster hand as the completed board read       with around 47,000 already in the middle.

Jacob Thibodeau then led out for 12,000 and Aditya Agarwal was in the tank for a good bit before he announced he was all in for 41,600 total.

Then it was Thibodeau's turn to go into the tank, for an even longer time than his adversary. After around 3 minutes, he finally tossed his cards face-up into the muck, showing    for the nut straight on the turn. Agarwal then revealed the   as he slid his cards to the dealer and collected the large pot. The table then speculated as to what he could have possibly had, with several different theories.

Henson Hits the Rail

In a three-way pot, the flop was     when the small blind checked to Will Serra who bet 3,200. Ray Henson shoved for his last 11,000 and it folded to Serra who quickly called:

Duveau Makes Big Call on River

Julien Duveau raised from the hijack position and the small blind called. The flop came     and both players checked.

The turn brought the   and the small blind decided to take a stab and bet 1,100 and was called by Duveau.

The river placed a   on the board and the small blind bet out 7,000. Duveau went into the think tank and made the call with second pair. The small blind had    for a miss and Duveau had    for the pair of tens.

Klodnicki Picks One Off, Auker Sends One Out

Five players went to the turn on a board of      when the big blind bet 2,700 and was called by Chris Klodnicki in early position and another opponent in the cutoff.

The river came the   and action checked around to the cutoff, who bet 4,200. The big blind tanked for about a minute before folding, but Klodnicki quickly confirmed the amount and tossed the chips in the middle.

He showed    for two pair on the river and his opponent mucked a ten as Klodnicki took the pot.

The next hand at this table, Ilavenil Arumugam moved all in for around 15,000 and Ken Auker called.

Moneymaker Making Moves

Chris Moneymaker was three ways on a     flop and everyone checked.

The player in the big blind checked again on the   turn and Moneymaker bet 3,000. The player in the cutoff called and the big blind folded.

The   completed the board and Moneymaker fired again — this time for 8,000. His opponent folded and Moneymaker, who has had a bit of a late-night surge, chipped up to around 160,000.

Smith Mucks Kings on the Flop

Jamie Smith

Jamie Smith raised under the gun to 1,300 and the button called, as well as Katie Swift in the small blind before Alexander Greenblatt three-bet to 6,000 in the big blind. Smith called, and the other two players got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of    , and Greenblatt continued for 6,000. Smith thought about it for about 10 seconds before folding his    face up. Greenblatt didn't let him know if it was a good fold or not as he pitched his cards into the muck.

The flop read     when Rafael Farah checked in the big blind, followed by the under the gun player. Sergio Aido bet 4,400 on the button and Farah replied with a raise to 12,000.

After some thinking, both the under the gun player and Aido let it go.

Adams Catches Siegel Up to Something

From the cutoff Marsha Adams raised to 1,600 and David Siegel put in the three-bet to 4,000. When it folded back to Adams she asked Siegel, "What are you up to? A little somethin' somethin'?" and put in the call.

The two saw a flop of     and Adams checked it to the raiser, with Siegel putting another 4,000 in the middle. Both then checked the   turn.

"I always seem to give you chips at the end," Adams lamented, but then asked Siegel what he had remaining. With that information in hand, she led out for 7,700 and Siegel was forced to fold.

Tulin Flops A Flush

On a completed board reading      , Nikolai Tulin tossed out a bet of 26,500 when checked to by his opponent.

The bet represented almost a full pot-sized bet and sent his opponent deep into the tank, at one point saying, "If I fold will you show me?" which was quickly shut down by the dealer before Tulin could even decide to offer an answer.

Eventually, his opponent called and Tulin lifted the    off the table to show his opponent that he had flopped the second nut flush with outs to the straight flush and royal flush as well.

His opponent sent his cards into the muck, saying he was unable to get away from    as the dealer pushed the pot in Tulin's direction.

Good Run For Pastore

"What did you eat tonight?", asked a player to Jonathan Pastore, who seems to be in a rush since the dinner break.

And he won another pot thanks to a three-bet on the button after an open by a player in middle position who called.

On    , Pastore continued to 3,000, and his opponent check-called a first time. Then he did it a second time after Pastore bet 10,000 on the turn  .

The river was the  , and the player in the middle position checked once more. Pastore bet very small, only 3,000, and his opponent snap-called.

"You're lucky," he said to Pastore, who hit a straight on the river with   . The player in middle position showed    for a set.

A few minutes after Pastore won this pot, Harish Ananthapadmanabha sat at the table with one of the biggest stack of the tournament so far, 330,000 chips.

Ambrosino Scores Massive Triple Up

The PokerNews team caught the action when all the chips were in the middle preflop between Robert Wood in early position, a player in the hijack and Ruggiero Ambrosino in the big blind.

Wood had the covering stack to both his opponents and Ambrosino was all in for close to 45,000.

Alcorn Calls Correctly For Tournament Life

Action was picked up on the river in a massive pot between Heather Alcorn in first position and another player in the small blind.

With a board reading      , action was on the player in the small blind who moved all in for 41,000 effective and Alcorn went into the tank.
