Third Flight Expected to be Big in Event #3: $1,000 Mystery Millions
The first bounty event of the 2023 World Series of Poker begins Day 1c at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas with Event #3: $1,000 Mystery Millions. Over the first two starting days, 4,980 entries were collected, with 248 players already making it through to Day 2.
With players returning from the previous days to give the tournament another shot and new players arriving, the third starting day should be a very large and competitive player pool as players keep their eye on the prize of the million-dollar bounty. Day 1a and 1b showed many great players busting and some newcomers building massive chip stacks.
Cards will be in the air at 10 a.m. local time and players begin Day 1c with 40,000 chips. Blinds start at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante and levels for all opening flights are 30 minutes with a 20-minute break at the conclusion of every four levels. A 75-minute dinner break is also on the schedule, expected to be around 7 p.m. PDT.
The day will consist of 22 levels of play and late registration closes after Level 12. One more starting day will occur on Saturday, after which all remaining players will combine into one field to battle for the lion's share of the prize pool and the bounties.
Currently, the chip stack to beat is Francis Anderson's astounding 2,750,000 in chips, which he collected on Day 1a. Three players from yesterday's Day 1b bagged over two million in chips They are Shaun Davis, Tal Avivi, and Joseph Dornish.
