Hallay Can't Blow Winter Off Top Pair

Axel Hallay raised to 350,000 with    and Sean Winter defended his big blind holding   .

The     flop gave both players a pair and Hallay continued for 350,000 with his threes. Winter raised to 850,000 with top pair before Hallay came back with a reraise to 1,700,000.

Winter went through three time bank chips before he called to the   turn. He checked over to Hallay, who continued betting for 1,200,000 this time.

Winter called once again and both players slowed down and checked the   river as Winter climbed above 10,000,000.

Kornuth Wins at Showdown

Axel Hallay opened to 350,000 from the button with    and Chance Kornuth defended his big blind with   .

Hallay's hand remained best on the     flop but Kornuth picked up the king-high flush draw. Action checked through to the   turn to give Kornuth the lead with a pair of threes. Both players checked again which brought in the   river.

For a third time, the action checked through and Kornuth took the pot.

Hallay Sets the Trap

Axel Hallay opened to 350,000 from the cutoff with   , and Chance Kornuth called from the button with   .

Hallay made trips on the     flop and checked. Kornuth then fired for 220,000, and Hallay just called.

The   turn double-paired the board and filled up Hallay. Both players checked.

The   completed the board, and Hallay checked for a third time, continuing to set the trap with the best hand. Kornuth took the bait and bet 785,000. Hallay then made it 2,600,000, and Kornuth released his hand.

Winter Calls Down With Ace-High

Sean Winter raised to 375,000 from the button with    and Alexandre Vuilleumier defended the big blind with   .

The flop came     and Winter continued for 255,000. Vuilleumier called and both players checked the   turn.

Vuilleumier missed his straight draw on the   river and tried to take the pot with a bet of 500,000. Winter grabbed some chips from the top of his stack and began shuffling them before sticking them in the middle and finding out his ace-high was good.

Kornuth Hits the Flop, Lin Spikes the Turn

Chance Kornuth limped in with    before Ren Lin, in the big blind, raised to 480,000 holding   .

Kornuth called as they went heads-up to the     flop. Kornuth checked his pair of eights, then called when Lin continued for 350,000.

The   turn, though, gave Lin back the lead with a pair of aces and he bet another 475,000. Kornuth, peering at Lin from underneath the brim of his hat, again called to see the   river.

Both players checked as Lin took the pot and increased his stack past 4,000,000.

Joey Weissman moved all in for 460,000 from the small blind and was called by Alexandre Vuilleumier from the big blind.

Weissman was the huge favorite but immediately became the underdog after Vuilleumier made trips on the     flop. The   turn and   river confirmed the bad beat and gave Vuilleumier a full house to secure Weissman's exit.

Lin Doubles With Set Over Set

On the second hand of the final table, Joey Weissman raised to 260,000 from under the gun as action folded to Ren Lin on the button. "All in. Let's go," he said as he moved all in for 1,420,000. Weissman called when action got back around to him.

"I think he has a bad feeling because he's not talking," a player at the table said as Lin uncharacteristically fell silent heading to the flop.

"Because he's my good friend," Lin replied.

The     flop was a disaster for Weissman as Lin made top set. The   on the turn gave Weissman a set and left him drawing to a miracle one-outer on the river, but he missed the   as he handed over most of his stack.

Kornuth Bets Out Winter, Lin Chastises Himself

Chance Kornuth raised to 240,000 from the hijack before Ren Lin, in the cutoff, spread out his remaining time bank chips in front of him and used one before folding.

"Chicken," he said, slapping himself on the hand. Sean Winter on the button did call and he and Kornuth went heads-up to the     flop.

Both players checked the flop and   turn before Kornuth led out for 440,000 on the   river. Winter ripped off his sunglasses and starred at the board, using a time bank card before he surrendered the pot.

"Ay, I folded the nuts. King-jack," Lin lamented after the hand.

Lin Doubles Through Hallay

Axel Hallay opened to 250,000 from early position, and Ren Lin called out of his short stack from the big blind.

Lin then moved all in for 400,000 on the     flop. Hallay asked for a count, much to the amusement of the short stack. After the total was confirmed, Hallay reluctantly called.

Lin was a huge favorite to double and that's what happened as his hand remained best following the    runout.

Winter Flops It to Leave Moore in the Cold

Joey Weissman raised to 260,000 and received calls from Sean Winter on the button and big blind Chris Moore.

All three players checked the     flop as the   fell on the turn. Action again checked around to Winter, and he bet 320,000.

Moore raised to 875,000 and Weissman quickly got out of the way. Winter, though, stuck around and called to see the   river.

Moore now moved all in and Winter practically beat him into the pot with his last 1,695,000, showing    for flopped quads. Moore went to muck before being forced to show   .

"I need quads too, dealer. My man, you only play quads," Ren Lin said following the hand.

Lin Finds No Action

"Anyone shorter than me," a severely short-stacked Ren Lin said before he moved all in for 470,000 on the button.

"One time," he yelled out.

"I don't know if you want to use one time for that," Sean Winter said as he folded the small blind. Action went on Axel Hallay in the big blind, who gave the decision some thought.

"Come on, France No. 1," Lin pleaded, but Hallay decided to fold.

"That's why you're chip leader. You know how to fold," Lin added as he picked up the pot.

Kornuth Picks Off Hallay's Triple-Barrel Bluff

Axel Hallay opened 250,000 from the hijack, and Chance Kornuth defended his big blind to the     flop. Kornuth check-called for 150,000 and did the same for 750,000 on the   turn.

Kornuth checked for a third time on the   river, and Hallay moved all in as the bigger stack. Kornuth quickly called off his remaining 2,425,000 and the cards were tabled.

Hallay bluffed for three streets with his   , which was just ace-high. Kornuth called with    and scooped the pot with his two pair.

Moore Takes From Hallay

In a limped pot, big blind Chris Moore bet 135,000 on a flop of     and Axel Hallay called from the small blind.

Both players checked the   turn as the   fell on the river. Hallay checked again, and this time Moore fired out 425,000. Hallay gave it some thought before mucking.

Chance Kornuth ran off at the start of the hand but made it back to the table by the time it was finished. "Thank you guys for playing a long one," he said as he sat back down.

Vuilleumier Drops One, Takes the Next

Chance Kornuth raised to 215,000 from under the gun and Alexandre Vuilleumier called from the big blind.

Both players checked to the river on a board of      , where Kornuth took the pot with a bet of 175,000.

The next hand, Vuilleumier was in the small blind and called a raise of 210,000 from Joey Weissman on the button. Both players checked the     flop before Vuilleumier led out for 205,000 on the   turn.

Weissman called to see the   river. Vuilleumier now fired out 830,000 and Weissman's cards quickly hit the muck.
