Salazar Takes From Henson and Aldridge

After Ken Aldridge raised to 4,000 in early position and was called by Ray Henson on the button, Aden Salazar three-bet to 15,000 out of the small blind.

Both opponents called to see a flop of    . Salazar led out for 35,000, which sent Aldridge into the tank as he cut down his chips and contemplated his decision.

After about a minute of thought, Aldridge shuffled his cards in his hands, then tossed them into the muck. Henson then also folded, bringing a pot to Salazar that has him right among the chip leaders.

Gonzalez Flattened by Fourie

Matthew Gonzales

Matthew Gonzalez just alerted the PokerNews reporting team to a beat he recently took that saw him lose a large portion of his stack.

Gonzalez called a raise from Conrad Fourie preflop, then on a     flop, the duo alternated raises until all the money was in the middle for a roughly 200,000 chip pot.

Gonzalez held      for a set of sevens, while Fourie held      for a pair of kings with a flush draw.

The turn brought a  , giving Fourie a full house of jacks full of sevens, with the river   changing nothing to send the huge pot to Fourie.

Medarov Soars to a Large Stack

Vasil Medarov

In a preflop four-bet pot to the     flop, the opponent of Vasil Medarov already moved all-in in the dark with the covering stack and said "why don't we save the time and get it in already". Once it was on Medarov, he called all-in for 127,900 and tabled the      for two pair.

He was up against      and remained ahead throughout the   turn and   river to join the current chip leaders.

Negreanu Eliminated by Valden in Huge Pot

Daniel Negreanu's seat was recently seen empty, with confirmation coming from his former tablemates that he busted in a huge pot with Robert Valden.

As told by the table, Valden raised to 2,000 under the gun and was called by Negreanu to his immediate left, David "ODB" Baker in the small blind, and the player in the big blind.

On a     rainbow flop, action was checked to Valden who bet 5,000. Negreanu then raised to 20,000 and the blinds folded.

Valden then made it 69,000 and Negreanu went all in for approximately 130,000. Valden called to put Negreanu at risk.

Valden had     , while Negreanu had     . The turn and river came   , ending Negreanu's night with a set-over-set cooler.

2022 WSOP Featured Females: Meet Wendeen Eolis, 1st Woman to Ever Cash Main Event
Wendeen Eolis
Wendeen Eolis

In the mid 1980's, women were considered no factor in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and other than the famous rounder and professional gambler Thomas "Amarillo Slim" Preston, poker players rarely made headlines in the mainstream press. That all changed when Wendeen Eolis became the first woman to cash at poker's "Big Dance."

In the 1986 WSOP Main Event, Eolis battled some of the best players in the world, including Amarillo Slim, in a field of 141 runners. She was on her way to a 25th-place finish for a $10,000, return on her buy-in, and permanent bragging rights as the first woman in history to cash in the WSOP Main Event.

Eolis attributes her 1986 WSOP performance to a year of poker tutoring from one of the best, a "relatively" conservative game plan, and cooperative cards. She told PokerNews, "Even today, women can win more by bluffing less than men."
