Bowman Unexpectedly Takes From Jackson

Picking up the action on the turn with the board showing      and around 7,000,000 in the pot, Greg Bowman checked to David Jackson who bet 4,200,000.

Bowman called and they saw the   river. Bowman checked again, and this time Jackson checked behind.

"I missed. I was hoping for an eight or a king," Bowman said, showing    for a rivered pair of nines.

Jackson slowly looked back at his cards. "Don't even look. Just muck them," Bowman joked as Jackson did just that to surrender the pot.

"Big hand. And I didn't even get there," Bowman continued.

Weaver Calls Off With Dominated Hand

Francis Figuereo raised all in from the hijack as action folded around to Brian Weaver in the big blind, who called for his last 5,500,000.

McMullin's Tens Find a Way

The action was picked up when Raed Abualfilat moved all in from early position for his last 3,400,000. It folded to Paul McMullin on the button who shoved over the top for 4,500,000 and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Kushell Next to Fall

In a blind versus blind confrontation, Bob Kushell and Xiang Lin saw a flop of    . Kushell, in the big blind, moved all in for his last 5,000,000 and Lin called.

Pollard Hits Miracle Eight

The action was picked up when three players were all in and the cards were on their backs. William Pollard was at risk for his last 4,600,000 and another opponent shoved for 3,000,000. Vitor Abreu had both covered and made the call.

Harp Plays the Wrong Tune

Not long after busting Alon Guttman, Russ Harp would find himself all in after jamming for around 12,500,000 over a pre-flop raise. Next to act, Ari Oxman re-shoved for 13,500,000 and everyone got out of the way.

Guttman Misses and Busts

From early position, Russ Harp moved all in for 7,800,000 and Alon Guttman called in the small blind.

Clock Called on Lin as Schumacher Survives

Xiang Lin raised to 1,500,000 from late position before Juliane Schumacher moved all in for around 7,500,000.

Lin went into the tank for several minutes, constantly counting down his chips and re-checking his cards. The table eventually called the clock on him.

As the tournament official counted down to zero, Lin folded pocket nines face up.

"That was an eight-minute hand. You took eight minutes off the clock," a tablemate admonished Lin after the hand.

Day 27 of the 2022 World Series of Poker saw the start of the ever-popular $1,000 Tag Team - with the likes of Veronica Brill, K.L. Cleaton, Ben Spragg, Andrew Neeme, and more all getting involved in the action early on.

Elsewhere, more bracelet winners were crowned as Brazil's Joao Simao celebrated his second piece of WSOP hardware in the $5,000 No-Limit Holdem/Pot-Limit Omaha Mix.

Hizer Out-Flops Jackson to Double

David Jackson raised to 1,200,000 from early position before Paul Hizer moved all in for 10,175,000 in the cutoff. Jackson quickly called.

Navy Vet Reps Military Charity During WSOP Salute to Warriors Event

Texas native Jimmy Rogers is one of many military veterans competing in the charitable Salute to Warriors bracelet event at the 2022 World Series of Poker, and he's passionate about supporting the troops.

Poker pro Ray Henson, his friend, flew the US Navy vet out to Las Vegas to compete in the $500 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament, which kicked off Sunday at Paris. PokerNews caught up with the amateur poker player on the Day 1 dinner break to discuss a charity he runs called Boots for Troops.
