Day 3 of 2022 WSOP Event #37: $1,500 Millionaire Maker Ends with 24 Players
It was a busy day for those fortunate enough to have bagged chips heading into Day 3 of Event #37: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em in the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. The day started with 232 players but by the end only 24 were left to vie for the $1,125,189 first-place prize and coveted gold bracelet.
John Sova bagged the second biggest stack at the end of the night with 15,300,000 after being in or near the chip lead for most of the day. This will be Sova's third cash of the 2022 WSOP, having placed 1,103rd ($1,535) in the Housewarming and 139th in the $800 deep stack ($2,884). If Sova can ride the big stack to a win, it would be his first WSOP bracelet. In fact, following the eliminations of James Calderaro (26th) and Michael Mizrachi (27th), there are no remaining players who have previously won a bracelet.
Other notables who failed to bag at the end of the day included Ryan Leng (54th), Ryan Stoker (100th), Elio Fox (150th), and Main Event Champion Scott Davies (172nd).

Sova took the lead early in the day when on a completed board of , he bet into two opponents for 200,000. He was then raised to 600,000 by Phong Truong and Parminder Kumar called behind.
Sova then shoved all in, covering both, which produced a fold from Truong and sent Kumar into the tank.
"I'll show you, either way,'" Sova told Kumar.
"Ok, nice hand buddy," Kumar replied as he set out calling chips.
Sova showed jack-ten for the nut straight and Kumar flashed pocket nines before he sent them into the muck. Kumar was eliminated and Sova was made chip leader and would remain among the top stacks throughout the day. Had it not been for a last-minute surge from Brazil's Alen Tenorio (16,600,000), Sova would have bagged the overnight chip lead.
The original field started with 7,961 entrants generating a prize pool of $10,627,935 and now just two dozen remain, each guaranteed at least $43,849 in prize money. The winner will take home $1,125,189 and a gold WSOP bracelet. The remaining players will return Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT and they will continue until only five players remain. Those five will then return on Wednesday for the final table when they will play down to a winner.
