Both players drew one on the first draw, and Smith stood pat on the second draw while Kupin took one. Smith remained pat on the third draw and Kupin took one again.

Both players remained pat on the final draw, and Chan announced "8-7". Leonard replied "8-7 what?" and the two proceeded to reveal their cards one at a time.
