Schindler Doubles Into the Lead

Jake Schindler

With major ICM implications on the line, Andrew Lichtenberger was trying to bully the table with his big stack. When the action folded to him on the button, Lichtenberger just shoved all in. However, Jake Schindler woke up in the small blind with a monster and called off his stack of 2,680,000.

The flop came     to give Lichtenberger a pair of fours and some outs. The   on the turn and the   on the river secured the double up for Schindler who moved into the lead.

Shorr Gets Short, Triples Up

The action folded to Shannon Shorr on the button who raised to 1,200,000. Sean Winter moved all in for 1,420,000 in the small blind and Shorr quickly called.

The board ran out       and Winter's pocket tens held on for a double up.

Just a couple of hands later, David Peters raised to 240,000 and Shorr was all in for 230,000 on his left. Dario Sammartino also called from the big blind and the flop came    . Sammartino and Peters both checked to the   on the turn.

Sammartino led out with a bet of 240,000 which got Peters to fold. Sammartino showed    but was behind the    of Shorr. The   on the river changed nothing and Shorr tripled up.

Punnat Punsri opened to 270,000 from under the gun and Dan Smith used a time bank before ripping all in for around 1,560,000 in the small blind. Punsri re-checked his cards and quickly called.

Peters Takes From Lichtenberger

With over 600,000 in the pot on a     flop, Andrew Lichtenberger checked in the big blind, David Peters bet 110,000 on the button, and Lichtenberger called.

Koray Aldemir raised it up on the button and Jake Schindler called from the big blind. The flop came     and Schindler checked to Aldemir who continued for 190,000. Schindler check-raised all in and Aldemir called off his stack of around 1,200,000.

Punsri Finds River Call

Michael Rocco opened to 250,000 in the hijack and Punnat Punsri defended the big blind.

The flop came     and Punsri check-called for 125,000, while both players checked the   turn.

The   completed the board, Punsri checked, and Rocco bet 375,000. Punsri thought for sometime before deciding to call.

Rocco could only show   , while Punsri flipped over    to claim the pot.

Smith Flops Two Pair to Double Up

Dan Smith pushed all in for 520,000 in the hijack and Punnat Punsri called from the small blind. Jake Schindler folded his big blind and the two hands were tabled.

Sammartino Loses a Couple

David Peters opened to 200,000 from under the gun and was called by Dario Sammartino on his left and Brekstyn Schutten in the big blind. The flop came     and Peters continued with a bet of 180,000 which only Sammartino called.

The turn was the   and Peters pushed out a bet of 550,000 which finally got Sammartino to lay his hand down.

On the next hand, Sammartino raised to 200,000 and Andrew Lichtenberger called on his left. The two players went heads-up to a flop of     where they both checked.

The   paired the board on the turn and Sammartino led out with a bet of 260,000. Lichtenberger called and the   completed the board. Sammartino checked this time and Lichtenberger announced a bet of 950,000. Sammartino used his full 30 seconds but decided to fold again.

Schindler and Shorr Double Up

Jake Schindler raised to 375,000 from under the gun and Sean Winter re-raised to 675,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Schindler stuck in the last of his chips for a total of 740,000 which Winter quickly called.

Schindler held    and was up against the    of Winter. The board ran out       and Schindler nailed an ace on the river to score a double up.

Next door, Shannon Shorr raised it up on the button and Dan Shak called from the big blind. The flop came     and Shak checked to Shorr who continued for 80,000. Shak check-raised all in and Shorr took two minutes before calling off his stack of 955,000.

Shak tabled    which was ahead of Shorr's   . The turn was the   which gave Shorr a straight and Shak two pair. The   paired the board on the river but it was the wrong one for Shak who fell down to just two big blinds.
