Liu Flops Set to Eliminate Player

JJ Liu

A player opened to 8,500 in early position, a middle position player called, JJ Liu called in the hijack, and the big blind raised to 30,000. The middle position player and Liu continued.

The flop came     and the players checked it through to the   turn.

After a bet, jam, and call, the big blind player got their remaining 60,000 or so chips in against Liu.

Liu had her opponent drawing dead as the meaningless river completed the board and Liu added the chips to her increasing stack.

Set Over Set Sends Grech Over a Million

Zachary Grech was heads-up against a lone opponent on a completed board of       and Grech had a bet of just under 100k in front of him.

Grech's opponent called and Grech tabled    for top set, which was good against the    for a lower set of his opponent.

Exterkotter Chipping Up

Marcos Exterkotter is nearing 1 million in chips after taking several pots in the early part of Day 3.

Most recently, Exterkotter in a hand with around 45,000 in the pot and       on the board. Exterkotter fired 38,000 on the river and his opponent went into the tank for several minutes.

The opponent finally called and Exterkotter turned over    for kings full of tens. The losing hand went into the muck and Exterkotter took yet another pot on his climb up the leaderboard.

Earthman Grounded by Kapoor

Down to just 59,000 on the main feature table, Aaron Earthman moved all-in and Jay Kapoor reshoved for 159,000 in the hijack to isolate successfully.

Zevola Triple Barrels Into His Bustout

On a board of      , Marco Zevola was spotted firing three barrels from under the gun. He was called down all the way by Jean-Luc Adam, who checked and snap-called the river shove for what appeared to be 110,000.

Zevola was aiming to send his cards into the muck when Adam tabled    for the top two pair but as per all-in showdown rule, the    for a bluff were exposed.

Jaffee Forces a Fold from Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier opened to 8,000 in middle position and picked up four callers along the way. The flop fell     and the action was checked to Grospellier who continued for 18,000. Jaffee was the only player to stick around on the button.

The   rolled off on the turn and Grospellier checked this time. Jaffee sized up a bet of 51,000 and Grospellier gave it some thought before eventually ditching his cards to the muck.

Moneymaker Flops Two Pair, Busts Speiser

The action picked up with Chris Moneymaker, holding    from the big blind on a flop of    . Hannes Speiser, who had   , bet 7,000 and Moneymaker raised to 21,000. Speiser moved all-in for 104,000 and was snap-called.

The turn was the   and the river   gave the 2003 world champion a full house. Moneymaker sent Speiser home and remains around the top of the leaderboard on Day 3.

Siu Takes From Luo

Meikat Siu was in the big blind against Chang Luo in early position on a     flop. Siu check-called a 4,000 bet from Luo and both players checked on the   turn.

Siu then bet 8,000 when the   completed the board and Luo called.

Underwood Bets the Turn and River

Benjamin Underwood raised to 8,500 in early position and was called by only the big blind. The flop came     and the big blind led out with a bet of 4,000 which Underwood called.

The turn brought the   and the big blind checked this time. Underwood made a bet of 9,000 and his opponent called. Before the   hit the river, the big blind checked in the dark which led to Underwood throwing in a bet of 30,000. The big blind quickly folded and Underwood raked in the pot.

Squire Leaves Cowen Stunned

Daniel Fuhs had opened from under the gun and was called by Brock Squire and Robert Cowen, the latter of which was in the big blind. The trio checked the     flop and the   turn was checked to Squire. He bet 30,000 and Cowen check-raised to 76,000 for Fuhs to fold.

Squire went into the tank and then jammed for 268,000 total, which sent Cowen into the tank himself. He eventually folded the   face-up and Squire flashed the    to leave his opponent stunned.

Miracle River Gets Young Back In Seat

Justin Young moved all-in preflop for 121,000 on top of a raise from Ehsan Amiri. Amiri gave it some thought and called.

Amiri took the lead on the flop of     and Young was out of his seat by the time the   peeled off on turn.

"Good luck, guys," Young said and began walking off.

But Young turned around when the table erupted as the   peeled off on the river to give him the best hand and save him from elimination.

"The get-up works!" Young said. "The get-up always works."

Young and Amiri have a history as the latter player three-bet the former with a light holding a few orbits earlier.

Ring Makes the Correct Call

David Ring in early position three-bet after an under the gun raise and the small blind flat-called, as did the initial raiser.

All three players checked on the flop reading     and the small blind led out with a bet of 30,000 on the   turn, which only Ring called.

The small blind fired a bet of 55,000 on the   river and Ring thought about it before calling. His opponent showed a bluff with    and Ring showed ace-high with    to win the pot.

Martinet Doesn't Believe Bonomo, Sends Him Packing

A completed board of       was spread across the felt with Justin Bonomo and Johan Martinet heads-up in the pot. Bonomo checked to Martinet who bet 25,000 into a pot of around 50,000. Bonomo over-bet shoved all in for 204,000, putting Martinet in the tank.

Martinet had Bonomo covered but it was still a tough decision for a healthy amount of his chips. After a few minutes passed, Martinet finally made the call. Bonomo turned over    as he stood up from his seat. Martinet held    and that was enough to send Bonomo to the rail.
