River Overbet from Choi

Susan Choi

Susan Choi was in position in a single-raised pot against Ben Underwood and Aleksandr Shevlyakov.

Underwood bet 2,000 on the flop reading     and both opponents called. Underwood sized up to 7,600 on the   turn and both players again called.

Underwood slowed down and checked when the   peeled off on the river and Shevlyakov also checked. Choi took a few minutes to make a decision and stacked up her yellow and orange chips before sliding out an overbet of 60,000 into the pot of just under 35,000.

Underwood and Shevlyakov both folded after some deliberation. The only information Choi gave her opponents is that she didn't have an ace.

Ievseieva Forces Quick Fold

With around 3,000 in the pot and     on the board, Mariia Ievseieva checked from early position and her opponent checked back.

After a series of raises preflop all of the chips were in the middle and Brian Arbaugh was at risk for 25,800.

In a four-way pot, the flop showed     when the big blind checked to Sam Abernathy, who bet 2,500. It was called by Luis Gustavo Shinike Kame and the player on the button.

The turn was the   and Abernathy and Kame checked to the button, who bet 5,500. Only Kame made the call and the river came the  .

Kame checked again and faced a bet of 12,500 from the button. After some thinking, Kame called with the    and the button quickly mucked while showing the   .

Shevlyakov Jams Into Choi

Three ways to the     flop, Susan Choi in the small blind, a player in middle position and Aleksandr Shevlyakov in the cutoff all invested 5,000 each. The   turn was bet for 5,000 by Choi and she earned two calls before checking the   on the river. The third player in the hand checked as well and Shevlyakov bet 12,000.

Choi then opted for a check-raise to 57,000 and that forced out the third player in the hand. Without hesitation, Shevlyakov moved all-in for more than 150,000 and Choi tank-folded.

Corbin White raised in middle position to 1,300 and two players called.

On the     flop, White and the player on his left checked to the button, who bet 2,000. Only White called.

The   hit the turn and both players checked to see the   on the river. Both players checked once again, and White tabled the   . His opponent mucked and White raked in the pot.

Koh KO's Opponent

The board read     . Suk-Kyu Koh called the all in from his opponent and the cards were turned over.

Koh had the    for the nut flush while his opponent had the    smaller flush but was drawing to the straight flush, although one of his outs was held by Koh.

The river came close as the   came off but it was not enough to save the at-risk player and Koh captured the massive pot.

No Call for Bohlman

On the tail end of a pot with 12,000 in the middle, Scott Bohlman led the       river for 15,000 in the hijack. He only faced the button anymore and his opponent eventually folded, exposing the   to everyone at the table.

After a limp, Phuoc Nguyen raised on the button to 1,800 and both the big blind and the initial player called.

The flop brought     and it checked to Nguyen, who continued for 5,500. It was enough to make his opponents fold and grab the pot.

Pete Chen recalled a hand in which he was all in with pocket queens against kings and ace-queen, during which he spiked the last queen in the deck to survive.

He then opened to 1,200 and called a three-bet to 3,100 by the hijack. They checked the     flop and Chen bet the   turn for 7,000, which earned him the pot.

A player in middle position raised to 2,200, Steven Grybas called next to act, and Mariia Ievseieva came along from the big blind.

Gjerde Ousted After Miller Flopped the Nuts

Thomas Gjerde

Thomas Gjerde raised to 1,600 from early position and was called by Rich Miller from late position.

The     flop saw Gjerde continue for 2,000 and Miller called bringing the   turn.

Gjerde check-called the 6,000 bet from Miller and the   completed the board on the river. Gjerde quickly jammed his remaining stack, roughly 8,000 and Miller snap-called.

Gjerde rolled over    for two-pair but it was way behind Miller who flopped the nuts holding   , ending his Main Event.
