The Champ is Still Here

Tom McEvoy

Poker Hall of Famer Tom McEvoy posited a theory to table #454 in the Amazon Purple section.

"I think I have played in more Main Events than this entire table combined," the 1983 Main Event champion said.

McEvoy explained that he has played in 37 Main Events. One player polled the table to get an official answer.

One by one the players rattled off their Main Event tally.

10...8...6...1...2...8...2...7

The table seemed to come up with a consensus total of 44 Main Events among the other eight players.

More than McEvoy, but not by much.
