Perry Green; A True Legend in Poker and Life

Perry Green

Of all those competing today in Event #23: $1,500 Eight Game Mix(6-Handed), one gentleman stands out above the rest, and that is 85-year-old WSOP legend Perry Green!

Perry Green hails from Anchorage Alaska where he lives with his amazing wife of 65 years Gloria. The lovely couple shares 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren! They are very active in the Alaskan community and avid philanthropists as well.

So, besides all those amazing facts, what makes Mr. Green stand out above the rest when it comes to poker? For starters, his first documented cash came back in 1976 at the 7th World Series of Poker where he came in first place in the Ace to Five Draw for $68,300! Since then, Mr. Green has amassed over $1,100,000 in total cashes which ranks him second all-time in the state of Alaska. Amongst his numerous cashes include an incredibly rare feat where Green finished runner-up in three consecutive $10,000 buy in events (Feb. '80, Feb. '81; 2nd place $10k Amarillo Slim's Superbowl of Poker; May '81; 2nd place $10k WSOP Main Event)!

What an amazing poker player and ambassador to the game. A truly legendary human being, we look forward to watching Mr. Green compete in this tournament, as well many more to come!
