It took a straight on the end but Ed Tonnellier has doubled to 180K and Chris Bell is under 100K.
Tuesday, June 5, 2007 4:08 PM Local Time
Tom not only scooped a big pot but he took the chips from Annie Duke.
Tuesday, June 5, 2007 4:04 PM Local Time
Ed Tonnellier calls Windsor, Ontario home and would probably be considered one of the amateurs in this field. Ed had a final table appearance in a HORSE event last month at the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge in Tulsa and another final table in February in Omaha Hi/Lo at the Venetian Deep Stack tournaments here in Las Vegas. Ed starts today on the short stack with 69,000.
Tuesday, June 5, 2007 4:02 PM Local Time
Short stacked at 50K, Ed doubles up.
Tuesday, June 5, 2007 3:58 PM Local Time
David Benyamine mucks and loses 40K.

Tom Schneider is a recognizable face at the tables to those of us who follow the poker circuit. His list of recent accomplishments includes a 2006 WSOP Final Table in a $1,500 Limit Hold’em event; a WSOP Circuit Final Table in the $10K Main Event at Caesar’s Palace also in 2006. Add to that a 3rd place finish at the World Poker Challenge in 2005 and a total of four WSOP cashes in four years. Tom comes into this final table with a more than ‘double-the-chips’ lead on his nearest opponent. This is going to be a tough final table but a big chip lead on a seasoned field is certainly the way you want to begin.

On the first hand of Stud, John is all-in on fourth street to Annie Duke and first Aces are not enough. John Phan finishes in 8th place.

Hovering down the leaderboard at this final table is another big name and big threat. John Phan has a list of poker accomplishments dating back to ten years when he haunted the LA poker rooms. The long list of cashes includes a near miss last year at the World Series, where John finished second in a $1,000 Hold’em event. He took home over $280K for that finish but we all know it’s the bracelet that draws John and the other players at this WSOP 2007 Final Table. John begins today’s play with 88,000 chips and I would guess he is ready to pounce early.

After several chopped pots, John Phan loses a good size pot to Ed Tonnellier and John is now our short stack.

We are playing Omaha 8 or better. Annie Duke and Joe Bolnick chop the first pot. No we will not report each and every heads up chopped pot.

Our delay may be shorter than we thought.

Event #4 Final Table scheduled to start at 2 PM has been delayed for technical reasons. We anticipate this will create delays down the line and this event (#5) will also be delayed beyond its original 3 PM scheduled start time.
