Gaspard Can't Catch Against Stembera

Michael Stembera bet 20,000 from middle position on a      board, and Jean Gaspard jammed for 24,000 from the hijack. The button got out of the way, and Stembera snap-called.

Gaspard needed a diamond that didn't pair the board or a queen to survive, but he quickly headed to the door to exit once the   fell on the river.

Dubini in Action

Richard Dubini called a raise from the player on the button after seeing the small blind player call, and the flop fell    .

All three players checked, and the   hit the turn. Dubini saw the player in the small blind bet 2,300 and the Argentinian opted to raise to 7,000.

The initial button raiser folded, as did the player in the small blind just seconds later. Dubini took in the pot and moved up to 126,000.

Huang Doubles Through Freitas

A preflop raising war saw Zizheng Huang all in and at risk for 29,300 against Fabio Freitas and he had the best of it with   , as Freitas only tabled   .

Lewis Up and Down

Toby Lewis won a nice little pot before the break to bring his stack closer to the 60,000 that everyone started with. However, he wasn't able to carry that momentum forward and continue to climb the leaderboard. Lewis opened to 2,200 from under the gun and was called by the small blind and Armin Ghojehvand in the big blind.

The flop fell     and the action checked to Lewis who threw in a bet of 4,000. The small blind folded but Ghojevand shipped all in for 14,600. Lewis quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

It was a great flop for Ghojevand who flopped top pair with the nut flush draw. The   on the turn gave Lewis a straight draw but the   on the river bricked off. Ghojevand doubled up through Lewis who fell back to nearly where he was earlier in the day.

Straight for Carranza

The player under the gun raised and Omar Carranza three-bet to 6,300 from mid-position. Action folded back to the player under the gun who stuck around with a call.

A flop of     was dealt and the player under the gun checked. Carranza bet 6,000 and his opponent check-called.

The turn came the   and was checked through to the   river. Both players checked again. The player under the gun showed    for a pair of kings but that wasn't good enough as Carranza revealed    for a straight to win the pot.

After a series of raises, David Ioane had moved all-in over top of Allen Cunningham's 7,000 bet for 23,700. Cunningham thought about it for almost a minute before calling.

Maahs Sits Back Down With a Double

A player bet 15,000 into a pot of 28,000 on a      board, only to be met with an all in shove from Day 2 entrant Kevin Maahs for 33,200.

"Just so I'm clear, it would be 18,200 more?" Maahs' opponent asked, and after confirming the amount, he called.

There was a raise to 2,200 from middle position and Harry Lodge called from the big blind. The flop came     and Lodge checked to his opponent who continued for 3,000. Lodge check-raised to 8,200 and his opponent thought for a minute before giving up his hand.

Calamusa and Fleyshman Win Pots

Pierre Calamusa bet the     flop for 3,000 in the cutoff and his opponent in the big blind called to see the   turn. Action checked to Calamusa and his bet of 10,000 won the pot.

One table over, Andy Black and Dan Fleyshman were involved with a pot of 13,000 to the       river. Fleyshman bet 5,700 with one T-25,000 chip behind and that sent Black into the think tank.

"Busted flush draw or king queen, but you probably bet the river either way," Black said in table chat and eventually folded. Fleyshman turned over    for the flopped full and raked in the urgently needed chips.

Richard Dubini checked in the big blind and Tony Dunst led out for 2,200 from the middle position. Dubini took a few seconds and then made the call.
