Bounahra Lets it Go

Amal Bounahra opened to 1,200 on the cutoff and was called by the button before the big blind raised it up to 4,200. Both players called preflop but immediately folded to a continuation bet on the flop. Bounahra is still up a little on the day so far after that loss.

Tang Joins the Main Event

Danny Tang just joined the Main Event. He finished in 31st position last year at the 2018 World Series of Poker. He cashed for over $230,000 for his then second and now third biggest cash. It still is his biggest cash on American soil and he has another shot at improving on that score and last year's performance.

Buchanan Binks Turn

Chad Bradbury raised to 1,200 under the gun and small blind Shawn Buchanan was his only caller.

Buchanan checked to Bradbury on     and Bradbury bet 2,600. Buchanan check-raised to 7,000 and Bradbury called.

The   landed on the turn and both players checked.

Buchanan fired 11,600 on the   river and Bradbury convinced himself to call.

Buchanan flipped the    for a turned set and Bradbury mucked his hand.

Predicting the Flop

Tony Miles apparently called for a flop of ten-ten-deuce for his opponent in a heads up pot vs David Carleton. The dealer spread the flop     to make a Nostradamus out of Miles as the table reacted with astonishment and Carleton gave Mils a fist bump.

Carleton then bet 1,200. "You're going to lead into me after I call the flop?" said Miles before calling. The turn was the  . Carleton bet again for 2,500 and Miles quickly folded.

Plens Scores Double Through Luther

Nikita Luther

With around 10,000 in the middle and the flop reading    , Nikita Luther checked from the big blind to Jonathan Plens in the cutoff.

Plens bet 4,500, and Luther called as the   fell on the turn.

Luther checked, and Plens bet 12,000. Luther check-raised to 33,000, and Plens announced he was all in for 67,300 total.

Luther called and tabled her    to be drawing dead against Plens'    for a full house.

With a decent amount of chips already in the middle, Bryan Ngo checked in middle position on a board showing     . Andras Nemeth checked back on the button bringing a   on the river.

Normand Five-Bet Rips

Haixia Zhang opened to 900 from early position and the button just called. Frederic Normand was in the big blind and stuck in a three-bet to 4,100.

Zhang responded with a quick four-bet to 12,000 and the button got out of the way. Normand thought for a bit before five-bet shoving all in. Zhang went deep into the tank for over three minutes but finally let her hand go and Normand collected the pot.

Farrell on the River

On an     flop, there was a bet of 3,500 and Ben Farrell called from the cutoff. Sean Dwyer made it 11,500 from the big blind and only Farrell stuck around. The   on the turn got checked by both players.

On the   river, Dwyer checked, Farrell bet 15,000, and Dwyer paid it off. Farrell showed    for a flush and Dwyer mucked his hand.

Cheong on the Rise

With roughly 21,000 in the middle, Joseph Cheong acted first on the river of the       board. He opted to fire 16,000 from the big blind and Shane Slovick contemplated his decision. He tanked for a while and then let his hand go, allowing Cheong to rake in the pot.

Cheong, who had been down to a half of the starting stack earlier in the day, has been trending up in the recent hours, currently guarding around 82,000.

Warken Picks Off a River Bluff

A completed board of       was spread across the table and three players were still in the hand. The big blind checked, Tyler Warken checked from early position and the button tossed in a bet of 7,000 into a pot of around 9,000.

The big blind folded and Warken thought for over a minute before splashing in a call. "Good call," the button said as he sent his cards to the muck. Warken scooped up the pot and showed    for just an ace-high call.

Peters Coolers Casino

David Peters raised to 1,000 from the hijack, only to be met with a three-bet to 2,600 from Diane Casino. Peters tanked for a minute before four-betting to 8,000, then snap-called when Casino five-bet shoved for 52,600.

Ivanov Doubles With a Set of Eights

The     flop was on the table and Lyudmil Ivanov had bet 4,000 from the big blind in a pot that had a little over 9,000 in it. Richard Tuhrim called the bet from the cutoff.

The turn was the   and Ivanov fired a bigger bet of 12,000. Tuhrim asked how much Ivanov had behind and he showed one green 25,000 chip, one orange 5,000 chip, and 17 black 100 chips. Tuhrim then called.

The   river completed the board and Ivanov pushed his last 31,700 to the middle. Tuhrim counted out a call to see how much he would have left if he would make the call.

He ended up calling and Ivanov showed    which won him the pot.

Bardah Takes One Out

Recapped to us by Ronnie Bardah, he was one of several players in a limped pot with a flop of    . Bardah checked from the small blind, the big blind checked, the initial limper bet 1,300 and another limper shoved for 53,000. Bardah called with a slightly covering stack after some thought and the initial limper folded.

Guerfi Gets a Pot

Mesbah Guerfi bet 4,600 from early position, with the board reading     . Both opponents in the blinds folded, and Guerfi took down the multi-way pot.

Guerfi, who has a final table appearance already at the 2019 WSOP (fourth place in the $1,500 Omaha Mix event) is holding his own in the early stages of the Main Event.
