Allain Double Barrels Blumenfield

Neil Blumenfield and Adrien Allain went heads-up to a flop of    . Blumenfield checked from middle position, and Allain bet 6,000 on the button. Blumfield though about it for a few moments and made the call.

Blumenfield checked again on the   turn, and this time Allain made it 12,000 to go. Blumenfield took his time with the next move, asking for a count and finding out Allain had 42,000 behind.

After a few more moments of contemplation, Blumenfield decided to fold.

Lootsma Pushes Opponent Off his Hand

The action folded around to Werner Lootsma on the button and he raised to 1,100 and the big blind defended.

The dealer fanned a flop of     and the big blind check-called Lootsma's bet of 1,200. The turn got checked through on the   to see the   on the river. The big blind checked once again and Lootsma bet out 7,000, the big blind went into the tank for a full minute before letting his hand go.

Hyun Bets Huge on River Against Miles

On a flop of    , Sung Joo Hyun in middle position check-called a bet of 4,000 from Timothy Miles on the button.

Both players then checked the   on the turn, and when the river landed the  , Hyun splashed out 40,000 and Miles swiftly folded.

Zinno Folds to River Bet

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Anthony Zinno raises to 1,000 from middle position and was met with a caller from the big blind.

The flop landed     and after the big blind checked, Zinno bet 1,500. The big blind called, and then both players checked through the   on the turn.

The river fell the   and the big blind led out for 3,000 and Zinno folded.

Phillips Folds the River

After a limp by the player in under the gun, Dennis Phillips raised to 1,500 and Jay Lee called on the button. The limper also called and the     flop was checked to Phillips, who bet 2,500. Only the preflop limper called and they checked the   turn, Phillips then folded the   river when facing a bet of 3,000.

Vorhees Comes Back From the Brink to Eliminate Squire

Tweed Vorhees raised to 1,600 from the hijack, and Eric Squire three-bet shoved for 8,800 on the button. Vorhees tanked for a minute, then called.

Squire shook his head upon seeing that he was dominated, and the     flop brought no help for his eights. The   turn had Squire pump his fist in relief, until the   river brought Vorhees in a straight.

"You had one of those days," a tablemate said to a quickly departing Squire.

"It's never easy, is it?" Vorhees said as he stacked up the last of Squire's stack.

Savoni Wins on River

A player in the hijack opened to 1,100 and was called by Jeremy Abernathy in the cutoff, Marco Savoni in the small blind, and Anthony Spinella in the big blind. The flop came     and action checked to Abernathy, who bet 1,800. Savoni called and then Spinella and the original raiser folded.

With action heads up, the turn came  . Savoni checked and Abernathy checked behind.

The river was   and Savoni put out a bet of 3,100. Abernathy let his hand go and Savoni took down the pot.

Raymer Back to Starting Stack

Greg Raymer

Greg Raymer had a profitable opening couple of levels but things have turned around recently. There was a raise to 1,000 from under the gun and the hijack called. Greg Raymer was in the cutoff and three-bet to 3,300 which got calls from both of his opponents.

The flop came     and the action checked to the hijack who tossed in a bet of 3,100. Raymer raised to 8,000 which got the under-the-gun player to fold but the hijack called.

The turn was the   which slowed the action as both players checked. The river was the  , putting four clubs on the board. Both players checked again and Raymer was showed the   .

"Nice catch," Raymer said as he tossed his cards to the muck.

Getzwiller Shoves Turn

Gail Getzwiller was seen completing the call of a three-bet out of the small blind to a total of 4,200 in order to close action and go three ways to a flop of    . She checked, as did Nick Maimone in the big blind and Victor Dong, who was under the gun.

The turn came   and Getzwiller announced she was all in. Maimone folded and Dong thought for a bit before folding as well and Getzwiller took down the much-needed pot, adding a significant portion of chips to her stack without a showdown.

Leonard Grabs a Few from Hughes

Jeffrey Leonard raised it up from under the gun and was called by the cutoff, Ryan Hughes on the button, and the big blind. The flop fell     and the action checked to Hughes who bet 2,400. Leonard was the only player to stick around for the   on the turn.

Leonard checked again and Hughes checked it back this time. The river was the   and Leonard announced a bet of 2,400. Hughes called and Leonard flipped over    for a full house to rake in the pot.

Rees Folds Set and Regrets

The flop was out and three players were facing    . Rodney Neubauer checked to Michael Rees who bet 3,000. Harry Arutyunyan flatted behind and Neubauer upped it to 7,000. Rees went into the tank for some time before letting it go and Arutyunyan sized his opponent up before making up the difference.

On to the turn and both players checked the  . The river was the   and Neubauer check-called Arutyunyan's 5,000 bet but folded when he saw he was up against a straight with   . As Arutyunyan collected the pot, Rees told the table that he'd folded pocket-nines on the flop, which would have made quads on the turn. He did not look pleased and no wonder as he is down to just 20 percent of starting stack.

Only six tables remain in Miranda and they are slowly but surely breaking into both Brasilia and Amazon.

Meschel's Full Boat is Best

With       showing on the board, David Meschel put out a bet for 10,000 from the big blind, and his opponent in the cutoff briefly thought over his decision. It was a short time in the tank for Meschel's opponent, who made the call but mucked when Meschel turned over    for the sixes-full-of tens-boat.

The pot put Meschel over the 100k mark in the early minutes of Level 3.

Fleischer Tackles Kalas

Terry Fleischer

Terry Fleischer checked an      board from under the gun over to Kane Kalas on the button, who checked behind.

Fleischer assembled a bet of 17,700 on the   river and pushed it into the pot. Kalas confirmed the amount, then folded, telling Fleischer, "Nice hand," as he did.

Paul Patouilliart opened to 1,100 from middle position and Maria Ho called from the small blind. The two players saw a flop of     and both players checked to the   on the turn.

Ho led out for 2,000 and Patouilliart called to see the   on the river. Ho checked this time and Patouilliart made a small bet of 1,600. Ho looked him up and Patouilliart turned over    for the best hand.

Dan Shak started the action off by raising to 1,100 under-the-gun and Bo Kostner three-bet to 3,300 next to act. The table folded around to Shak who made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of     and both players checked to see the   on the turn. Shak led out for 2,500 and Kostner called. The   fell on the river, Shak checked, Kostner bet out 7,000 and Shak went into the tank. After about 30 seconds Shak let his hand go and Kostner was shipped the pot,

Vogelsang Gets Squeeze Through

Action folded to the cutoff who opened to 1,100 and received calls from the players on the button and in the small blind.

Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 6,500 and the cutoff went into the tank for about two minutes before folding. A few seconds later, the remaining two players had folded and Vogelsang was raking in the pot he had just taken down preflop.

The German native with just shy of $20 million in winnings throughout his career is off to a good start today and is a definite name to watch as the tournament progresses.
