Veiga Bombs the River
In one of the first hands after the redraw, Diogo Veiga saw a flop with Andrei Konopelko. On an flop, Konopelko check-called 7,000,000 from the bracelet winner before the turn got checked through.

Fitzgerald Misses Out on Final Two Tables
Short-stack Christopher Fitzgerald, down to just a little over four big blinds, had been taking his time in the previous hands with the big payjump looming between 19th and 18th place. However, from under the gun with , he went for it and found a caller in big blind Andrei Konopelko with .
Konopelko spiked a fortuitous flop with , albeit Fitzgerald was still drawing very live with his nut flush draw and overcard. Neither the turn nor river helped him, though, ending his bid in 19th place.
