Nitsche Favors the Four-Card Straight Flush Board

Steffen Sontheimer raised to 285,000 in the cutoff and Dominik Nitsche called from the big blind. The flop fell     and Nitsche checked to Sontheimer who bet 250,000. Nitsche called and the   landed on the turn.

Both players checked to the   on the river. Nitsche led out for 300,000 and Sontheimer gave it some thought but opted to send his cards to the muck as the players headed for their first break of the day.

They checked to the turn of a      board where Siegal bet 200,000. Holz raised to 1,000,000, Siegal folded and Holz won the pot.

Sontheimer Gets Sticky

The action folded to Steffen Sontheimer in the small blind who just limped in and Christoph Vogelsang checked his option. The flop came     and Sontheimer check-called a bet of 120,000 from Vogelsang.

The turn was the   and Sontheimer quickly checked again. Vogelsang used up all 30 seconds before making a bet of 450,000. Sontheimer called and the   paired the board on the river.

Sontheimer checked one more time and Vogelsang finally checked behind. Sontheimer turned over    and that was good enough to earn him the pot.

Bonomo Chips Up

Rick Salomon chipped up through Brian Rast when he got value from    for flopped trips and a full house on the river while Mikita Badziakouski folded the next few hands to drop to three big blinds.

Justin Bonomo opened to 260,000 and Nick Petrangelo called in the big blind. On the     flop, Petrangelo check-called a bet of 550,000 and the   turn brought a check by Petrangelo. Bonomo bet 1.4 million and claimed the pot.

Badziakouski Left With a Mountain to Climb

Mikita Badziakouski opened to 240,000 first to act and was called by Rick Salomon from one seat over and Phil Ivey in the big blind. The flop came     and Ivey checked, Badziakouski bet 275,000 and both opponents folded.

Nick Petrangelo made it 260,000 to go from the cutoff and Badziakouski tossed in the extra chips out of the big blind. On a     flop, Badziakouski checked and faced a bet worth 225,000. Badziakouski called and then led the   turn for 325,000, Petrangelo called. The   river completed the board and Badziakouski made it 1.7 million to go with few chips behind.

Petrangelo moved all in and Badziakouski folded with just half a million chips behind.

Kaverman Gets Two Barrels from Smith

Dan Smith raised to 270,000 under the gun and Byron Kaverman defended big blind. Smith continuation-bet 240,000 on     and Kaverman check-called. Kaverman called another barrel of 525,000 on the  , bringing an   river. Kaverman checked and Smith thought briefly then verbalized a check as well.

Katz Gets a Four-Bet Through

Cary Katz opened to 300,000 from under the gun and David Einhorn three-bet to 900,000 in the small blind. The action was back on Katz who jammed all in for 3,810,000. Einhorn asked for a count and then went into the tank, using up one of his time extensions.

Before his time was up, Einhorn folded and the pot was awarded to Katz as he tabled   .

Petrangelo and Salomon Win Pots

Nick Petrangelo opened to 260,000 from the cutoff and Mikita Badziakouski called out of the big blind. They checked through the     flop and Badziakouski bet the   turn for 225,000, Petrangelo called. On the   river, Badziakouski checked and Petrangelo checked behind to see the Belorussian turn over the    for a pair of fives.

Petrangelo claimed the pot with the    for a pair of tens and won the pot.

Justin Bonomo's raise to 240,000 in the cutoff was called by Rick Salomon in the big blind and the flop brought    . Salomon check-raised from 220,000 to 720,000 and Bonomo called. On the   turn, Salomon bet 1.25 million and Bonomo sent his cards into the muck.

Badziakouski Jams Twice

Rick Salomon limped first to act and Brian Rast raised to 440,000 from one seat over, Salomon was the only caller. On the     flop, Salomon checked and folded to a bet worth 400,000 by Rast.

Phil Ivey raised to 260,000 on the button and Mikita Badziakouski shoved for the last 1.81 million in the small blind. Ivey gave it some thought and folded.

Brian Rast limped the small blind and Nick Petrangelo raised to 480,000 in the big blind, Rast called. On the     flop, Rast checked and Petrangelo continued for 360,000 to take down the pot right there.

Holz Gets a Check-Raise Through Two

Erik Seidel made it 260,000 on the button and both blinds called. They checked to him     and he bet 600,000. Jason Koon called but Fedor Holz made it 2.15 million to go. Seidel mucked quickly. Koon thought a bit but followed him.

Ivey Takes From Badziakouski

Rick Salomon made it 300,000 to go from the button and Nick Petrangelo called in the big blind. The     flop was checked through and Petrangelo's bet of 900,000 on the   turn forced a fold from the start-of-the-day chip leader.

Phil Ivey raised to 260,000 first to act and Mikita Badziakouski 750,000 from one seat over. Ivey called and the flop     and both players checked. After the   turn, Ivey bet 500,000 and Badziakouski called to see the   on the river. Ivey now fired a bet of 1 million and Badziakouski let go to drop to 18 big blinds.

Vogelsang Rivers a Flush

Dominik Nitsche opened to 250,000 from under the gun and picked up three callers in Daniel Negreanu in the cutoff, Christoph Vogelsang in the small blind, and David Einhorn in the big blind.

The flop came     and all four players checked to the   on the turn. Vogelsang led out for 400,000 and both Einhorn and Negreanu called. The river brought the   and Vogelsang checked this time. Einhorn checked as well and Negreanu reached back for a bet of 1,600,000. Vogelsang called and Einhorn laid his hand down.

Negreanu turned over    but that was not enough to beat Vogelsang's flush with   .

Prize Pool Announced; $10,000,000 for first

Big One Drop Bracelet

Five players will finish in the money in the 2018 Big One for One Drop, with $2 million for the number five place finisher. The payouts increase to $2.840 million, $4 million and $6 million.

The eventual champion will receive a staggering $10 million dollar, as well as the final bracelet to be awarded at the 2018 World Series of Poker.

Negreanu on the Path to Recovery

Daniel Negreanu opened to 250,000 from the cutoff and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 900,000 in the small blind. Negreanu called to go heads-up to a flop of    . Vogelsang led out for 500,000 and Negreanu made the call.

The   landed on the turn and Vogelsang slowed down with a check. Negreanu threw in a bet of 700,000 and that was enough to get Vogelsang off of his hand. Negreanu recovered some of the chips he just lost in the previous hand.
