Takayama Two-Outers Paur in Near Million Pot

Mike Takayama

Taylor Paur was standing next to his seat with a stunned look on his face and no chips in front of him. After receiving the card with his finishing position from the chip runner, he made his way out of the Amazon room.

Mike Takayama was the one stacking heaps and the table collectively recapped the action that just transpired. Paur had raised to 16,000 from the hijack and Ema Zajmovic had called from the cutoff. Mike Takayama then three-bet to 77,000 on the button, Paur four-bet shoved for 416,000, Zajmovic folded and Takayama called.

Paur held    and Takayama was a dog with   . However, the   fell in the window to ship the almost seven-figure pot over to the Filipino bracelet winner.

"It's all my fault," Zajmovic chuckled.

Elgio Gomez Barrios called from two seats over, as did another player, and Merrilees tabled the   . The dealer announced "showdown please" despite no all in showdown, and Gomez Barrios exposed his    for a straight while the third player mucked.

One hand later, Gomez Barrios moved all in for 34,000 and Merrilees just called on the button. The small blind moved all in for around 90,000 and the Brit snap-called.

Enright Stays Alive, Leaves Chan Short

Barbara Enright is most famously known as the only woman in poker to make the WSOP Main Event final table. She is looking for another repeat performance this year and she can thank her lucky stars that she is still alive. Enright pushed all in for 115,000 from early position and Marc-Etienne McLaughlin reshoved for a little over 200,000 in middle position. Johnny Chan was in the cutoff and also moved the last of his 198,000 into the middle.

Barbara Enright:
Johnny Chan:
Marc-Etienne McLaughlin:

Three massive hands resulted in three all in with McLaughlin having both players covered. The flop came     and Enright took the lead with a set of nines. The   on the turn and the   on the river changed nothing and Enright got a full triple up. Chan would take the smaller side pot and McLaughlin was left on crumbs.
