Bicknell Folds to Cabrera

Kristen Bicknell

David Cabrera raised from middle position, and Kristen Bicknell defended her big blind. The flop came down    , and Bicknell check-called an 11,000 bet from Cabrera. The turn was the   and Bicknell again checked and saw Cabrera fire 33,000.

Bicknell had to think through her decision for a couple of minutes, but ultimately she decided to sacrifice the pot to Cabrera.

Moundir Zoughari raised to 8,000 from the hijack. The player in the small blind and the big blind called.

A flop reading     was dealt and checked through to the   turn. The blinds checked again. Zoughari threw in a bet of 17,000, and that was enough to claim the pot.

Action folded around to Lauren Kling in the cutoff and she jammed for 37,500. After verifying the bet, the big blind called to put Kling at risk.

Chattaway Can't Win Against Aces

Billy Chattaway raised to 9,000 from the under-the-gun position and was called by the player in the small blind.

They both checked through the     on the flop to the   on the turn. The small blind bet 10,000 and Chattaway called.

The river completed the board with the   on which they both checked again. The player in the small blind tabled    and Chattaway mucked his hand.

Esfandiari Builds Stack

Over on the secondary feature table, Antonio Esfandiari raised to 10,000 and Lars Gronning called. Gronning check-called bets of 8,500 on the     flop and 14,500 on the   turn. The   fell on the river and Gronning check-called another 38,500 before mucking immediately when Esfandiari rolled over the    for a straight.

Over on the outer table, Yoon Kim and Daniel Tang tangled in a bigger pot and the board showed      . Kim checked and Tang made it 69,000 to go. Eventually, the clock was called on Kim and he folded after being given 30 seconds to make a decision.

When we got to the table, the cards were already on their backs and the complete       board was out. James Obst was under the gun with    and had gotten the chips in against a player who held    for a flopped open-ended straight draw. Obst's hand held and he took the pot to double up.

Yahtzee! for Hicks

Eric Hicks

Eric Hicks has been one of the bright personalities of this year's Main Event and once again he provided some excitement for those around him. Hicks raised to 11,000 from the hijack and the button three-bet to 27,500. The action was back on Hicks who made the call as the flop came    .

Hicks checked to his opponent who continued for 25,500. Hicks check-raised to 120,000 and his opponent went into the tank for a couple of minutes. He eventually moved all in for around 275,000 and Hicks groaned but still made the call. The button flipped over    for two pair while Hicks held    for top pair and a flush draw.

The turn was the   and Hicks jumped for joy. "Yahtzee!" he screamed, but there was still one card to come. The river was the   and the nut flush for Hicks sent his opponent to the rail. "What took you so long with ace-ten?" he asked as his opponent walked away.

Volpe Loses Some

With about 30,000 in the pot and the board reading    , Paul Volpe checked from the big blind to his lone opponent on the button. He bet 1,3500 and Volpe called.

The turn brought the   and Volpe check-called a bet of 16,500 from the button.

The   fell on the river and Volpe checked. His opponent bet 21,500 and Volpe went into the tank.

"Bluffing me with the best hand again?" Volpe asked.

"I don't know how to bluff," his opponent replied.

After over a minute, Volpe called. The button tabled    for Broadway, Volpe mucked, and the button took the pot.

Domenech Doubles Through Albertson

The player under the gun opened to 9,000. Jordi Domenech, from one seat over, called. Cory Albertson, in the hijack, three-bet to 30,000. The original raiser folded. Domenech four-bet shoved for 153,000. Albertson went deep into the tank for a few minutes before throwing in chips signifying a call.

Domenech tabled    and Albertson showed   , commenting, ''You're in trouble buddy...''

The board ran       and Albertson was wrong, as Domenech got his double-up.

Borsa Hits Harder than Liebeler

Ben Yu opened to 10,000 from the hijack and Eric Liebeler reraised to 32,500 in the cutoff. Alessandro Borsa flat-called from the button and Yu laid his hand down. The flop came     and Liebeler led out for 47,500 which Borsa called.

The turn was the   and both players checked to the   on the river. Liebeler checked again and Borsa slid in a bet of 71,000. Liebeler snap-called and Borsa turned over    for a straight.

"I had queen-ten of spades," Liebeler mentioned as he pushed chips towards Borsa. "If you would have bet the turn, I would have jammed all in."
