Nguyen Doubles Through Deeb

Shaun Deeb continued to put pressure on his opponents and pulled away further before a four-way pot emerged. Deeb had raised to 400,000 first to act and picked up calls by James Calderaro on the button, Ben Yu in the small blind and Scotty Nguyen in the big blind. The flop of     was checked to Deeb and he bet 750,000. That got rid of Calderaro and Yu, but Nguyen check-raised all in.

Deeb asked for a count and made the call once it was determined to be for 1,620,000 on top of Deeb's bet.

The   on the turn gave Deeb one more out as he hit the inferior set along with his straight draw, however, the   on the river was a blank to let Nguyen double and jump back into second place.

Yu Wins Small Pot

Shaun Deeb raised to 400,000 from the button and Ben Yu called in the big blind. On a flop of    , Yu checked and called a bet of 400,000 by Deeb. On the   turn both checked and there was no betting action on the   either.

Yu flipped over      for two pair and that won the pot.

Scotty Nguyen limped the button and Shaun Deeb checked his option. Both players then checked the     flop as well as the   turn.

When the   completed the board on the river, Nguyen bet 200,000 and Deeb called. Nguyen tabled the      for a straight and it was good as Deeb tossed his hand to the muck.

Deeb Takes From Yu

Shaun Deeb raised to 400,000 on the button and Ben Yu called from the big blind. On a flop of    , Yu checked and Deeb continued for 400,000, Yu called. The   appeared on the turn and Yu checked once more. Deeb made it 1,130,000 to go and Yu called.

After the   river, both players checked and Yu showed a king-queen for top pair, which Deeb had crushed with the     .

Shaun Deeb limped the small blind and then called when James Calderaro made it 600,000 to go from the big blind.

Both players proceeded to check it down as the board ran out       and Calderaro showed the      for kings and jacks. It was good as Deeb simply mucked.

Shaun Deeb Extends Chip Lead

Shaun Deeb raised the button to 400,000 and Ben Yu defended his big blind to see a     flop.

Both players checked and then Yu check-called a bet of 475,000 on the   turn.

When the   completed the board on the river, Yu checked for the third time and then folded when Deeb bet 1.05 million.

First Break of the Day

The final four players are now on their first 15-minute break of the day.

In the last hand of the level, Shaun Deeb limped in from the small blind and James Calderaro raised to 460,000 from the big blind, which Deeb called. On the     flop both players checked and Deeb check-folded the   turn to a bet worth 525,000 by Calderaro.

Small Pot for Nguyen

Shaun Deeb raised to 320,000 in the cutoff and James Calderaro called on the button, as did Ben Yu in the big blind. The flop fell     and the action checked to Calderaro, who bet 500,000. That ended up winning the pot without showdown.

Deeb raised to 320,000 first to act the very next hand and Scotty Nguyen called in the big blind to see a flop of    . Nguyen checked and Deeb checked back to head to a turn of  . Again both checked and did so again on the   river.

Nguyen was first to show and turned over the     , which ended up winning the pot.

Making a final table in any WSOP event is a long-odds investment. A $25,000 event with plenty of top players makes it even tougher. Getting that deep requires long days, deep focus, plenty of skill, and an occasional lucky break.

James Calderaro (aka The Big Showww Caldo) has not only done that in the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha tournament, but has a chance to win the title two years in a row.

On Hand #31 of the final table, Shaun Deeb raised to 320,000 from the button and then called when Jason Koon three-bet to 1.04 million.

Koon then moved all in for his last 900,000 on the     flop and Deeb snap-called.

Koon held an overpair but Deeb had flopped two pair to take the lead. The   turn gave Koon a bunch of straight outs but the   river was not one of them. Deeb's two pair held and Koon was eliminated in fifth place.

Deeb's Aggression Leaves Nguyen Short

Scotty Nguyen raised to 460,000 on the button and Shaun Deeb three-bet for the size of the pot in the small blind, making it 1,540,000 to go. Nguyen called and the flop came    . Deeb bet the pot and Nguyen had just shy of that behind to be sent into the think tank. After careful consideration, Nguyen folded and was sent all the way down to 20 big blinds, while Deeb further increased his lead.

The Action Slows Down

Jason Koon limped in from the small blind and Ben Yu checked his option in the big blind. The flop came     and Koon checked, Yu checked back. Koon also checked the   on the turn and Yu's bet of 225,000 ended the hand right there.

James Calderaro raised first to act to 400,000 and was called by Shaun Deeb in the big blind. There was no betting action on the     flop or the   turn. The   turn brought a bet of 280,000 by Deeb and Calderaro folded.

Yu Takes It with a River Bet

Ben Yu limped from the small blind and Scotty Nguyen checked his option from the big.

Yu check-called a bet of 225,000 on the     flop before both players checked the   turn.

Deeb Takes From Calderaro

Shaun Deeb raised to 360,000 from the button and was called by James Calderaro in the small blind, as well as Jason Koon in the big blind. On the     flop, Calderaro and Koon checked to Deeb, who bet 400,000. Calderaro called and Koon let go, sending two players to the   turn.

Calderaro took the betting lead and made it 900,000 to go. Deeb gave it some consideration and called. The   fell on the river and both players checked. Calderaro flashed a      and Deeb had that beat with      for trips queens to rake in the big pot.

Shaun Deeb Takes the Lead

On Hand #13 of the final table, Shaun Deeb opened for 320,000 and Ben Yu called out of the small blind. Scotty Nguyen came along from the big and three players went to the flop, which came down    .

Two checks saw Deeb continue for 450,000 and only Yu called to see the   turn.

Yu checked for the second time and Deeb bet 1.25 million. That did the trick as Yu released. As a result of that hand, Deeb leapfrogged Yu atop the counts.

Nguyen Folds to Four-Bet

From the cutoff Ben Yu raised to 420,000 and Scotty Nguyen on the button three-bet for the size of the pot, making it 1,420,000 to go. Yu gave it plenty of consideration and four-bet the pot to 4,440,000, which resulted in a quick fold from Nguyen.

One hand later, Nguyen raised to 420,000 and James Calderaro called in the small blind, as did Jason Koon in the big blind. On the     flop, Calderaro bet 600,000 and both opponents folded. The defending champion flashed the      for top two pair.
