Lisandro Takes the Lead
The first hand of heads-up play saw Steven Albini complete with an ace and Jeff Lisandro defended a queen. Albini fired on fourth and fifth where he made an open pair of tens and Lisandro called both bets. Albini slowed down on sixth street and check-called when Lisandro's board hit a third heart.

Ferguson was ahead with split deuces which were also blocking one of Albini's cards. Albini, however, made a pair of sevens on fifth to seize the lead.
Ferguson instantly received an ace for aces up, prompting an "oooh" from the rail. But Albini got another seven on the same street, getting the "ooohs" as well.
Ferguson needed to hit an ace or a deuce to make a boat and survive, but he peeled the instead. Albini showed a meaningless river card as Ferguson headed from the stage.

Chris Ferguson raised over Steven Albini's completion and Albini called with an ace. Both players received a jack on fourth street and Ferguson fired again, getting a call.
A jack paired Albini's board on fifth and Albini led out. Ferguson called with three consecutive cards, but what he saw on sixth street was catastrophic. Albini received another pair on his board with the and he blasted.
Ferguson was visibly pained. He had a strong board himself but even if he held a straight, he knew he could be very well be drawing dead. He had two bets behind and took about a minute to finally convince himself to let it go.
