Event #25: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha

On the button, Adam Brown raised the pot to 56,000 and Daniel Spencer called in the big blind. The flop came     and Spencer bet enough to set Brown in, who called for his last 73,000.

The   turn improved Spencer but Brown stayed in front with his set of sevens. The   then fell on the river and Brown doubled with a straight to send Spencer to the bottom of the counts.

Joining the action on the     flop, Darren Taylor checked in the small blind and Mark Zullo bet 45,000, which Taylor called. Both then checked the   turn and the   river to see Taylor announce aces and nines. He turned over      and that won the pot.

The next hand, Allan Le raised to 36,000 from under the gun and Tyler Groth called in the cutoff. On the     flop, Le checked and called a bet of 55,000 by Groth. The   turn was checked through and Le's bet of 80,000 on the   river won the pot.

Tyler Groth seemed to win nearly every pot he contested today, but Jesse Chinni eventually found his way to beat Groth in a hand that escalated to Chinni being all in on the     flop.

Chinni was in for his remaining 77,000 and Groth had a chance to score the first knockout of the day.

Chinni had flopped the nuts, but his straight wasn't a sealed winner just yet as Groth hoped for a third diamond to make flush. The turn   and the river   didn't oblige, leaving Chinni doubling.

Under the gun, Igor Sharaskin min-raied and Mark Zullo flatted from the big blind.

Zullo check-called another 35,000 on the     flop, and the turn brought the  .

Zullo checked once again, letting Sharaskin fire a second barrel worth 90,000. Zullo paused and started counting what he had left. After a minute or so, Zullo moved all in, earning a snap-fold from Sharaskin.

With the recent movement of chips, Sharaskin has conceded his chip lead to Tylor Groth whose final day performance has been stellar so far.

First to act, Daniel Spencer raised to 30,000 and Casey Carroll in the big blind three-bet the pot to 96,000. "I have 65,000 behind," Carroll said while Spencer eyed his stack and reraised. Carroll called all in and the cards were tabled.

Carroll had the superior pocket pair and improved to a pair of aces on the     flop. The   on the turn left Spencer with two outs only to deal the final blow to Carroll, but a blank   river completed the board to let Carroll double for 161,000.

Three players were involved on the turn reading     , with Tyler Groth firing 100,000 from the button. Igor Sharaskin (big blind) called but Darren Taylor gave up.

The   completed the board and Sharaskin checked to Groth once again. Groth slid forward a 125,000 bet, putting Sharaskin to a tough decision.

Sharaskin took about a minute to make his move, which was eventually a call. Groth turned over      for a rivered full house, which wasn't a hand Sharaskin wanted to see. He flipped over his      for flopped top two pair, and the pot went to Groth.

Darren Taylor opened the button to 25,000 and found one caller in Tyler Groth, who came along from the big blind.

They both checked the     flop, but Groth took the betting lead on the following streets. He fired 40,000 on the   turn and another 60,000 on the   river, getting calls on both occasions.

"Fives full," Groth announced before showing      to prove his statement. Taylor mucked.

Daniel Spencer raised from the hijack and Jonathan Zarin called from one seat over on the cutoff. Allan Le three-bet to 110,000 in the small blind. Only Spencer called and the flop came    . Le continued for 55,000 and that won the pot without any further resistance.

Le also claimed the small blind and big blind the next hand by raising from the button to add some more chips to his stack.

Allan Le raised to 25,000 and Daniel Spencer three-bet to 80,000 in order to force a fold from Le.

One hand later, Casey Carroll made it 35,000 to go on the button and Daniel Spencer three-bet to 117,000 in the small blind. Carroll reluctantly called and Spencer immediately bet the pot on the     flop. Carroll had less than that behind — 239,000 to be exact — and was sent into the think tank for more than three minutes. He eventually called all in and the cards were tabled.

Both the   turn and the   river blanked and they chopped it up. Spencer tapped the table and said "good call."

The next hand, Le raised to 25,000 and Spencer called on the button. Jonathan Zarin raised the pot and both opponents folded.
