Zullo Catches Groth

Mark Zullo opened from late position and big blind Tyler Groth accepted his 35,000 price to see the flop come    .

The flop ceased fire, but Groth led out 40,000 on the   turn. Zullo called.

Groth placed in another 80,000 after the   hit the river. Zullo threw in one chip, signaling a call.

"You got it," said Groth, knowing he couldn't win with his      for a missed wrap. Zullo opened      for two pair, jacks and nines and added another chunk to his stack. He's now nearly level with Groth.

Adam Brown Doubles Through Daniel Spencer

On the button, Adam Brown raised the pot to 56,000 and Daniel Spencer called in the big blind. The flop came     and Spencer bet enough to set Brown in, who called for his last 73,000.

The   turn improved Spencer but Brown stayed in front with his set of sevens. The   then fell on the river and Brown doubled with a straight to send Spencer to the bottom of the counts.

Zullo Takes Down Limped Pot

Half of the table joined the contest in a hand that started with Daniel Spencer's limp from the second position. Two seats over, Tyler Groth overlimped and Allan Le also called from the button. Mark Zullo completed from the small blind and Adam Brown checked his option as the five players continued to the flop.

The     hit the felt and the action got checked to Le, whose 32,000 bet evoked two calls and two folds, with Zullo and Spencer interested in seeing the turn card.

Zullo, however, ended the multi-way competition on the   turn, leading a huge 171,000 to force two folds.

First Blood to Taylor and Le

Joining the action on the     flop, Darren Taylor checked in the small blind and Mark Zullo bet 45,000, which Taylor called. Both then checked the   turn and the   river to see Taylor announce aces and nines. He turned over      and that won the pot.

The next hand, Allan Le raised to 36,000 from under the gun and Tyler Groth called in the cutoff. On the     flop, Le checked and called a bet of 55,000 by Groth. The   turn was checked through and Le's bet of 80,000 on the   river won the pot.

Jesse Chinni Eliminated in 11th Place ($10,129)

Chinni's ride back up didn't last long as he lost all of his chips straight after scoring a double against Tyler Groth.

Chinni was sitting in the big blind, facing Darren Taylor in the small blind. They tangled on the turn, with      on the felt. Taylor checked, then Chinni bet 40,000. Taylor responded with a huge check-raise. Chinni then said he was all in, causing some troubles to Taylor.

"Oh s$%t, I call," Taylor said. He wasn't convinced he had the best hand, but he did. Taylor held      for a turned full house while Chinni showed     , knowing he was drawing dead.

Taylor had Chinni slightly covered as he was left with about 250,000 on the turn while Chinni had only 238,000 remaining. The meaningless   landed on the river, signaling an end to Chinni's run in the tournament. He departed in 11th place, earning $10,129.

Chinni Doubles Through Groth

Tyler Groth seemed to win nearly every pot he contested today, but Jesse Chinni eventually found his way to beat Groth in a hand that escalated to Chinni being all in on the     flop.

Chinni was in for his remaining 77,000 and Groth had a chance to score the first knockout of the day.

Chinni had flopped the nuts, but his straight wasn't a sealed winner just yet as Groth hoped for a third diamond to make flush. The turn   and the river   didn't oblige, leaving Chinni doubling.

Brown Gets Short

Jonathan Zarin raised first to act and picked up three callers including Allan Le, Casey Carroll and Daniel Spencer. The flop of     was checked to Le and he took it down with a bet of 56,000, flashing two of his cards as he did — the   and  .

One hand later, Adam Brown raised to 58,000 and Spencer three-bet the pot to 184,000 with around 60,000 behind. Brown folded and the pot was awarded to Spencer.

Brown also limped in from the small blind and Le raised to 50,000 in order to force a fold from Brown.

Zullo Shoves on Sharaskin

Under the gun, Igor Sharaskin min-raied and Mark Zullo flatted from the big blind.

Zullo check-called another 35,000 on the     flop, and the turn brought the  .

Zullo checked once again, letting Sharaskin fire a second barrel worth 90,000. Zullo paused and started counting what he had left. After a minute or so, Zullo moved all in, earning a snap-fold from Sharaskin.

With the recent movement of chips, Sharaskin has conceded his chip lead to Tylor Groth whose final day performance has been stellar so far.

Zarin With "The Other Hand" and Brown Chips Up

Casey Carroll raised to 40,000 and Jonathan Zarin three-bet the pot out of the small blind for 128,000 in total. Carroll folded and asked if Zarin had pocket aces. "No, I have the other hand," Zarin said. "Do you want to see the other hand?" Zarin and eventually flashed     . Zarin then added "Do I get one show now Casey?"

The next hand, Adam Brown limped in from the small blind and Allan Le raised to 45,000 in the big blind. Brown called and the flop came    . Brown bet the pot for 90,000 and Le eventually folded, asking Brown "Did you have the ace of spades?"

Brown replied with "Possibly. I had a pair and the flush draw."

Casey Caroll Doubles Through Daniel Spencer

First to act, Daniel Spencer raised to 30,000 and Casey Carroll in the big blind three-bet the pot to 96,000. "I have 65,000 behind," Carroll said while Spencer eyed his stack and reraised. Carroll called all in and the cards were tabled.

Carroll had the superior pocket pair and improved to a pair of aces on the     flop. The   on the turn left Spencer with two outs only to deal the final blow to Carroll, but a blank   river completed the board to let Carroll double for 161,000.

Zarin More Than Doubles Stack Without Showdown

Casey Carroll raised to 32,000 and Jonathan Zarin called in the small blind before Adam Brown raised it up to 128,000 in the big blind. Carroll called, as did Zarin, and they headed three-way to the flop of    . Zarin immediately announced all in for 215,000 and Brown folded. Carroll also let go and the pot was awarded to Zarin, who more than doubled without showdown.

"Whew baby, I needed that. I should have repotted preflop, had a really strong hand," Zarin added.

Groth Hits Another Boat

Three players were involved on the turn reading     , with Tyler Groth firing 100,000 from the button. Igor Sharaskin (big blind) called but Darren Taylor gave up.

The   completed the board and Sharaskin checked to Groth once again. Groth slid forward a 125,000 bet, putting Sharaskin to a tough decision.

Sharaskin took about a minute to make his move, which was eventually a call. Groth turned over      for a rivered full house, which wasn't a hand Sharaskin wanted to see. He flipped over his      for flopped top two pair, and the pot went to Groth.

Two for Brown; One for Le

Hand 1

Casey Carroll raised to 32,000 and Adam Brown three-bet the pot for 108,000 with 127,000 behind. Carroll asked for a count, then folded.

Hand 2

Daniel Spencer raised and Brown called on the button. On the     flop, Spencer checked and Brown claimed the pot after betting 42,000 and forcing a fold.

Hand 3

Allan Le raised from the button and Spencer three-bet out of the big blind for 81,000. Le called and the flop of     was checked by both players. On the   turn, Spencer checked and Le's bet of 67,000 won the pot uncontested.

Two Streets of Value for Groth

Darren Taylor opened the button to 25,000 and found one caller in Tyler Groth, who came along from the big blind.

They both checked the     flop, but Groth took the betting lead on the following streets. He fired 40,000 on the   turn and another 60,000 on the   river, getting calls on both occasions.

"Fives full," Groth announced before showing      to prove his statement. Taylor mucked.

Le Takes it on the Flop

Daniel Spencer raised from the hijack and Jonathan Zarin called from one seat over on the cutoff. Allan Le three-bet to 110,000 in the small blind. Only Spencer called and the flop came    . Le continued for 55,000 and that won the pot without any further resistance.

Le also claimed the small blind and big blind the next hand by raising from the button to add some more chips to his stack.

Politano Loves All In

Three-way to the     flop in a single raised pot, Bruno Politano was first to act and he declared "All in!"

The dealer amended his statement, saying his bet was only for 84,000. The other players folded quickly anyway, and Politano smiled: "I know that it's only a pot, but I just love saying 'All in!'"

Action from Spencer, Chops with Carroll

Allan Le raised to 25,000 and Daniel Spencer three-bet to 80,000 in order to force a fold from Le.

One hand later, Casey Carroll made it 35,000 to go on the button and Daniel Spencer three-bet to 117,000 in the small blind. Carroll reluctantly called and Spencer immediately bet the pot on the     flop. Carroll had less than that behind — 239,000 to be exact — and was sent into the think tank for more than three minutes. He eventually called all in and the cards were tabled.

Both the   turn and the   river blanked and they chopped it up. Spencer tapped the table and said "good call."

The next hand, Le raised to 25,000 and Spencer called on the button. Jonathan Zarin raised the pot and both opponents folded.
