Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Jim Collopy lost a massive pot to drop to a short stack and then was eliminated in a succession of two hands. In the first hand, Collopy faced off against Benjamin Zamani and Ziya Rahim.

The board read     and action checked to Rahim, who bet. Both Zamani and Collopy called. The turn was the   and action checked to Rahim who bet again. Both players called.

On the   river, action checked all the way around to Zamani on the button. He bet and both Collopy and Rahim called. Rahim showed      to take the low end of the pot. Zamani showed      to take the high side of the pot with a flush. Collopy held on to his cards for about 30 seconds, trying to find a way to take any side of the pot, but he couldn't and he mucked his hand.

The very next hand, Collopy raised. He was called by Dustin Sitar in the blinds.

On the     flop, Sitar checked. Collopy bet. Sitar raised, and Collopy called. The turn was the   and Sitar bet. Collopy moved all in and Sitar called.

Sitar showed      for a pair of queens with a straight draw. Collopy showed      for a flush draw. The flush did not come in when the   came on the river and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Jim Collopy raised from the hijack before Jon Seaman moved all in for 58,000 from the small blind. Collopy called.

Benjamin Zamani raised before the flop. From the blinds, Jim Collopy raised. Zamani called.

On the   river, Collopy moved all in for less than the big bet. Zamani called but mucked when Collopy showed     .

Scott Buller raised from under the gun. Action folded around to Mark Jenkins in the big blind and he moved all in for just 8,000 more. Buller called and the two turned up their hands.

The board ran out      , giving Buller the best of both halves, and Jenkins was eliminated from the tournament.

The final 18 players will now redraw for seats.

But not too busy to take some action on the Stapleses weight loss bet.

Preflop, Jared Hemingway opened and James Chen called.

The flop came     and Hemingway led. Chen raised. Hemingway made it three bets and Chen called.

The turn was the   and Hemingway bet. Chen called again.

The river was the   and Hemingway thought for about 15 seconds before announcing "bet." Chen thought for about the same amount of time before calling.

"Let me know if I win anything," Hemingway said, showing      for a straight and the best low.

"Is that the nut nut?" Chen asked.

Hemingway scooped the pot while Chen was forced to send over the chips.

Martin Corpuz raised from early position. Viktor Celikovsky then moved all in for 35,000 from middle position. Ryan Paluf called from the big blind and Corpuz added the extra to match the bet.

The flop came     and Paluf checked. Corpuz bet. Paluf called.

The   dropped on the turn and Paluf once again check-called a bet from Corpuz.

The   completed the board and Paluf bet. Corpuz called.

Paluf tabled      and took three-quarters of the pot, winning the high with two pair and chopping the low. Corpuz had      and took a quarter with the same low.

Celikovsky mucked his hand ultimately finishing in 25th place.

James Chen raised from under the gun before Jared Hemingway bumped it up from middle position. Carol Fuchs then went all in for 41,000 from the hijack. Kevin Gerhart called from the big blind and Chen completed the bet.

The flop came     and all three players checked.

The turn brought the   and Gerhart bet. Chen raised, putting the pressure on Hemingway. He thought for a minute before opting to fold. Gerhart called.

The   completed the board and both players checked.

"Flush," announced Chen, before tabling      for a flush.

A disappointed Gerhart open mucked his      and Fuchs tabled her      before hitting the rail in 26th place.
