Day 2 of Event 36 was the Gleb Kovtunov Show. He won what Allen Kessler labeled, "The pot of the day," and increased a decent Day 1 stack to finish at the top on Day 2. Today he'll come in leading the pack, hoping to pick up his first piece of WSOP hardware and of course, the $213,186 first prize.

Several look to challenge Kovtunov, though. Bracelet winners Michael Chow and Fabrice Soulier still remain, Hani Awad looks to turn his second place run from last year into a bracelet win this time around. And of course there is Jason Mercier, who looks to scoop up his third bracelet of the summer (and sixth bracelet lifetime) and put a stranglehold on the WSOP Player of the Year race. But Mercier has work to do. He comes into the day as the third shortest stack.

Other players pose stiff challenges as well. Esther Taylor Brady, Aditya Prasetyo, and Per Hildebrand are three who have come close to bracelets, but weren't quite able to close it out. Prasetyo and Taylor-Brady look to turn WSOP Circuit success into something more.

Day 3 of Event #36: $2,500 Mix Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better is set to begin at 2 p.m. local time. Keep pounding that 'refresh' key for all the live updates.
