Doug Polk

Welcome to Day 3 of Event #61, $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold'em! Today at noon, only nine of the 863 teams originally entered will return to the Rio  to battle for a first-place prize of $153,358, and a team's worth of gold bracelets.

Currently, Team Polk / Fee (one prior WSOP bracelet) is in the lead, with Doug Polk being a no-show not being present for the finale, as he'll be participating in the $111,111 Big One for One Drop event today. According to Polk, who commented, "I did my job!"the pressure is now on Ryan Fee's shoulders, who has to keep challengers such as Team Gale / Shulman (two prior bracelets) and Team Charania / Rettenmaier at bay.

The shortest stack is that of the Little family, consisting of Jonathan Little and his parents Larry and Rita, while Team Altman / Peters is just a notch higher. Also at the final table are Team Owen / Lybaert / Glaser / Amed (four prior bracelets), and Team Dempsey / Godfrey (one bracelet), and four other talented teams.

Today, play will restart in Level 20, 1,000/5,000/10,000, and the final nine teams will play until a winner is crowned. There will be 15-minute breaks every two hours.
