Sam Greenwood

Round 3 of the $1,500 Shootout begins today at noon. Niall Farrell is attempting to make his second final table of the summer. He finished sixth in the $2,500 No Limit  Hold'em event earlier and is seeking his first WSOP gold bracelet.

Vanessa Selbst (three WSOP bracelets) and Sam Greenwood (one) are the only players who previously have won WSOP gold. The remaining players are seeking their first. Greenwood, a Canadian, will be trying to book his second bracelet on Canada Day and make it two in a row for his country following Kristen Bicknell's bracelet win on Thursday.

Play will start with two six-handed tables and once the field reaches ten, the players will break to a single table. If either Safiya Umerova or Vanessa Selbst wins the event, they will be the second female to win an open bracelet event this year. Bicknell was the first, with a win in the $1,500 Bounty.
