Martin Kozlov opens to 80,000 from early position and Igor Yaroshevskyy defends his big blind to see a     flop.

Both players check the flop to see the   fall on the turn, where Yaroshevskyy checks for a second time.

Kozlov slides out a 125,000 chip bet and Yaroshevskyy quickly calls.

The   completes the board and Yaroshevskyy checks again, with Kozlov pushing his entire 630,000 chip stack forward after a few moments of thought.

Yaroshevskyy needs a little longer than a few moments, as he spends nearly three minutes in the tank before calling.

Kozlov turns over    for nothing but ace high, while Yaroshevskyy gives himself a fist pump before tabling

Kozlov is eliminated on the first hand of the official Event #56 final table and will make just under $40,000 for his 9th place finish.

Hung Tran opens the action with a raise to 80,000 from early position. The action folds around to Scott Vener in the big blind and he moves all in for 420,000.

Tran quickly drops in a call and holds    to Vener's   .

On the     flop, Vener is still ahead, but Tran has picked up a straight draw. Vener hits a set on the   turn and Tran will need a ten for a straight on the river to win and knock out Vener. But the river is the   and Vener secures the double up.

As he's stacking his chips, Vener says "that one was for David Benefield," who had been sitting to Vener's right since players reached the final two tables.

"In the words of David Benefield, 'I didn't come here to fold nines,'" Vener said.

In back-to-back hands, two short stacks at Table 404 have doubled up.

The first saw Kevin MacPhee open shove from the small blind and Pascal Theodosiadis snap call and table

MacPhee holds    and will need to hit to score the knockout.

He nearly does, as the board runs out      , missing his flush draw on the river to double up the short stack to nearly 900,000. MacPhee is cut down slightly to 1,600,000.

The very next hand sees Blair Rodman open to 80,000 and Martin Kozlov call in the big blind.

Kozlov then moves all-in after the     flop, with Rodman calling only to be shown

Rodman has top pair as well with    and will need to hit on the turn and river to eliminate the short stack.

Sunday, June 28, 2015 6:38 PM Local Time

Igor Yaroshevskyy opens to 70,000 from the cutoff and Theodoros Aidonopolos moves all-in for just over 60,000 from the small blind.

The board runs out       and Aidonopolos is eliminated in 14th place.

Pascal Theodosiadis - 558,000
Blair Rodman - 420,000

Joshua Field was down to his final 100,000 chips two hands ago, but after two double ups, he's now playing just over 500,000 and finally has a workable stack for the first time in recent memory.

The first hand saw Fields open shove from early position and Theodoros Aidonopolos re-shove. That isolated the short stack but it wouldn't help score the knockout, as Field's    held against Aidonopolos'

In the very next hand, Field moves all-in again, this time having David Benefield re-shove to isolate. It works again and the two would be flipping for Field's tournament life,    against the short stack's

The board runs out       with Benefield falling to "get the check mark" for a second straight meaningful pot, as he flopped top pair only to see Field turn his set.

Field is now playing just over 500,000 and Benefield has been cut down to 450,000.
