It's the third and final day here in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. Leading the way is no other than Jason Mercier. Mercier leads the final 21 players with his stack of 1,182,000 and is on track to take down his second bracelet this year. If Mercier can pull this off it would be his 4th career bracelet, and third bracelet in the omaha varient.
Ahead of Mercier lies a tough road however, as the remaining 21 players is littered with top pros including Dan Smith (924,000), Davidi Kitati(822,000), Gionni Demers(881,000), Alexander Petersen(759,000), Hasan Habib(659,000), Shaun Deeb(530,000), and Aaron Jones(488,000).
The true Cinderella story sits right in the lap of Simon Trumper, who bagged a very reasonable stack of 740,000. Trumper brings a ton of energy and spirit to the game as the long time friend of the now deceased David "Devilfish" Ulliot has been on an emotional roller coaster for the entire tournament. You can spot Trumper in the field wearing a white t-shirt with a photo of Devilfish and himself on the back. Trumper was coasting along all day on day 2, until he eliminated Stephen Moreschi in a wild hand that left the entire table in tears. Trumper is on a mission to win this tournament and take it down for his buddy Devilfish.
Play is scheduled to resume at 2:00 PM today, and will not end until there is a new champion. You can follow along with all of the action right here at WSOP.com!
