Hands #11-15: Trips for Shanks

Hand #11: In the last hand of the previous level, Jeff Gross raised to 40,000. Neo Hoang and Eric Shanks in the big blind called. On the     flop, Gross continued for 45,000 and Shanks check-called. Both checked the   turn and Shanks led 82,000 after the   completed the board on the river.

Hand #12: Mike Kachan raised to 50,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #13: Hoang raised to 60,000 and Richard Milne three-bet to 173,000. Hoang folded and then asked his table neighbor, "Kings again?" Milne replied with "You will see in half an hour," referring to the delay of the live stream.

Hand #14: Andrew Egan raised to 48,000 and all opponents folded.

Hand #15: Jeff Blenkarn raised to 52,000 and Gross, Kachan and Viktor Skoldstedt all called. Skoldstedt took down the pot with a bet of 80,000 on the     flop.

Hands #6-10: Shanks Takes a Few, Skoldstedt Shoves

Hand #6: Andrew Egan opened for 40,000, Viktor Skoldstedt raised him and when Egan moved all in, Skoldstedt folded.

Hand #7: Eric Shanks opened for 41,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #8: Shanks opened for 41,000 and again won the blinds and antes.

Hand #9: Shanks opened for 41,000, Mike Kachan three-bet to 77,000 and the blinds folded. Shanks moved all in and Kachan folded.

Hand #10: Skoldstedt opened fire 45,000 and Raymond Henson called in the big blind. The flop was    . Henson led for 56,000 and Skoldstedt raised to 120.000. Henson called and the dealer rolled over the turn card  . Henson checked. Skoldstedt moved all in and Henson let it go.

Hands #1-5: Milne Folds Kings

Hand #1: Richard Milne raised to 50,000 and picked up the blinds and antes.

Hand #2: Steve Gross raised to 41,000 and folded after Neo Hoang moved all in.

Hand #3: Viktor Skoldstedt raised to 45,000 and all players, including Jeff Blenkarn, folded their cards. Blenkarn showed   .

Hand #4: Mike Kachan raised to 42,000 and folded after Milne made it 110,000 to go.

Hand #5: Hoang raised to 54,000 and Milne three-bet to 130,000. Hoang called and they both checked the     flop. On the   turn, Hoang bet 125,000 and Milne expressed his frustration with the charming Scottish accent before mucking   .

Matt Salsberg Eliminated in 10th Place ($23,202)

Matt Salsberg

Matt Salsberg opened the action with a raise to 50,000 from early position and got called by Raymond Henson as well as Richard Milne and Andrew Egan in the blinds. On the     flop, the action folded to Salsberg and he moved all in for 223,000 chips. Henson called and both players in the blinds folded.

The TV producer needed a queen to stay alive but the board completed with the   turn and the   river. Salsberg shook hands with his opponents and then left the tournament area.

Blenkarn Squeeze Play

Richard Milne opened for 48,000 and Eric Shanks called in the small blind. Jeff Blenkarn in the big blind broke out a three-bet to around 150,000 and rested his chin on his arm.

Milne gave him a bit of a study for awhile, but released his hand and Shanks quickly followed suit.

Gross Involved

Steve Gross opened for 41,000 and Viktor Skoldstedt made it 72,000. Gross had a look at how much Skoldstedt was playing and made the call.

The flop was     and both players checked. The   arrived on the turn and Gross check-called a 70,000 bet from Skoldstedt. The river   saw Gross check and another bet from Skoldstedt. this time for 70,000. Gross shuffled his cards about for a bit before folding.

Egan and Hoang Battle

In the last two hands on the secondary table before we got down to ten-handed, Neo Hoang doubled up with    against the    of Andrew Egan. One hand later, Hoang raised to 60,000 from the button and Egan moved all in for 550,000. Both players exchanged some banter and Hoang eventually let his hand go.

Bastian Fischer Eliminated in 11th Place ($23,202)

Bastian Fischer

From early position, Bastian Fischer moved all in and got called one seat over by Mike Kachan. All other players folded and Kachan didn't want to see any diamonds.

His wish was only partly granted with the     flop, but he didn't have to worry much anymore on the   turn and the   river. Kachan made the flush after having had the better hand preflop, and the German missed the unofficial final table.

Salsberg Doubles Up

Steve Gross opened for 33,000 and Matt Salsberg, who had gotten short, moved all in for 148,000 from the button. The blinds folded and after Gross got a count he made the call hoping to knock a third player out in under an hour.

Gross would need help from the deck, though, as his    had some catching up to do against the    of Salsberg.

The board ran out       and Salberg doubled up. In fact, he open-shoved the next hand and picked up the antes and blinds to add a little on top of that.

Michael Marckx Eliminated in 12th Place ($23,202)

Michael Marckx

Viktor Skoldstedt raised to 32,000 and Michael Marckx called from the cutoff to see a     flop. Skoldstedt continued with a bet of 42,000 and Marckx raised to 100,000 before the Swede moved all in. Marckx threw back his hands, sighed, and eventually folded after one minute.

Only one hand later Marckx was all in for approximately 200,000 and Eric Shanks one seat over moved all in as well. All three players behind them mucked their cards and Marckx was looking for an ace.

After the     flop, a ten would help Marckx and he got exactly that with the   on the turn. One card from a possible comeback, he started cheering. However, the brutal   river gave Shanks the better full house and eliminated Marckx in 12th place.

Daniel Riley Eliminated in 13th Place ($18,180)

Daniel Riley

Daniel Riley opened and Steve Gross thought for a short time before three-betting him from the small blind. Back around to Riley who sat still for a moment before moving all in. Gross snapped him off to put Riley at risk.

Gross showed    and Riley had made his move with   .

All eyes were on the board as the cards ran out       and Gross has busted two players on his table in the first level of the day.

Justin Schwartz Eliminated in 14th Place ($18,180)

Justin Schwartz

Andrew Egan raised to 32,000 from the button and Justin Schwartz moved all in out of the big blind for 218,000 total. Egan didn't waste much time to announce "okay, I call" and turned over the   . Schwartz was ahead with   , but the     flop was quite a blow, giving Egan a straight.

The   turn changed nothing, and Schwartz needed a king to stay alive. The dealer fanned the   as final community card and Egan even got a flush on top of the already-made straight to score the knockout.

"That wasn't my day," said Schwartz before heading to the payout desk.

Marckx Doubles Through Schwartz

The action folded to Justin Schwartz on the button and short stack Michael Marckx was in the big blind. Schwartz asked for his stack size before making his decision and then went all in. Marckx checked his cards twice and then announced call.

Robert Merulla opened to 37,000 and Steve Gross three-bet him to 100,000. This had happened in one of the early hands of play and Merulla had folded. This time, however, he moved all in, and Gross quickly called.

The action folded to Michael Spegal in the cutoff and he tossed in two T25,000 chips for a raise. One seat over, Eric Shanks on the button asked Spegal how much he was playing in total and then raised all in. All players behind them folded and Spegal called off with a sigh that turned into frustration when they turned over their cards.

There was no help on the     flop for Spegal, then the   turn saw him drawing dead. The meaningless   completed the board and Spegal headed to the payout desk to collect $14,407. All remaining players are now guaranteed at least $18,180.

Blenkarn Doubles Through Marckx

After a very cautious start at both tables full of hands ending preflop, we finally had some action. Jeff Blenkarn raised to 48,000 from late position and Michael Marckx moved all in from the button with the superior stack. Blenkarn called off for 296,000 total and it was a flip:
