Hansen Busts; Counts from Table 361

Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen fired out a pot-sized bet of 40,000 on a flop of    , and Jonathan Duhamel pushed out a stack of what looked like 200,000 or so. This sent the Great Dane into the tank, where he started talking to himself.

"If you have that, it's good," he said. "If you have that, it's bad."

Hansen continued for a few minutes before saying something about "going down swinging," and then tossed one chip forward, calling the bet.

"You call?" Duhamel said, confused as to whether or not Hansen was all in.

Hansen nodded - his stack was 153,800 after his 40,000-chip bet was pulled in - and the two rolled over their cards.

Hansen:
Duhamel:

The 2010 WSOP Main Event champ faded Hansen as the turn and river bricked  ,   respectively, and the latter was eliminated.

Gus HansenVery sad - Quick exit of the 50K - played a 460K pot with the nut flush draw vs QQ - No Heart No Ace :-(

Duhamel is now among the chip leaders with nearly half of a million chips. Here are counts from the entire table:

Alexander Kostritsyn called bets from Todd Brunson right down to seventh street as we saw the Russian put in another call.

Benyamine Stands Pat

2-7 Triple Draw

David Benyamine stood pat and bet every chance he could heads-up with David Oppenheim in triple draw.

Oppenheim took three cards on the first draw, one on the second and stood pat himself on the final draw, giving Benyamine action the whole way.

Oppenheim called Benyamine's final bet, but mucked when he was shown      .

Grospellier Finishes Off the Senior Champ

Dan Heimiller

Limit Hold'em

Earlier this summer, Dan Heimiller took down Event #17: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship for $627,462. But thanks to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, his hopes of winning a second bracelet - at least in this tournament - have come to an end.

Heimiller's final hand came in limit hold'em when he got his chips in with    against Grospellier's   . The board ran out       and that was all she wrote for Heimiller. No winner, winner, so no chicken dinner.

Hachem Mucks

Stud 8

Joe Hachem:    /      /
Brian Hastings:    /      /
Jonathan Duhamel:    /      /

We caught Hachem firing on fourth, Hastings raising and Duhamel coming along for the ride. The same thing went down on fifth and sixth, but when Hachem and Hastings checked seventh, Duhamel fired out a bet.

Hachem tank-called, Hastings obliged and when Duhamel showed     to take the high and Hastings felted     to take the low, Hachem mucked.

Heimiller Survives

Pot-Limit Omaha

Melissa Burr raised to 4,500 and Elior Sion called from her left, Brian Tate called from the small blind and Dan Heimiller contemplated his next move from the big blind. Heimiller only had 1,600 chips left behind if he would make the call. Eventually, he did.

The flop brought out     and the action was checked to Burr who bet 6,500 and only Heimiller, who was all in for his tournament life, made the call.

Burr:
Heimiller:

The board ran out  ,   and Heimiller stayed alive a bit longer, but he still may be in trouble.

Glantz vs. Arieh: How Low Can You Go?

2-7 Triple Draw

Matt Glantz raised from under the gun and then called when Josh Arieh three-bet from the big blind. Arieh stood pat, Glantz drew two, and then it went bet-call.

Arieh stood pat once again, Glantz drew one, and again Arieh bet. Glantz raised. Arieh called and both players stood pat, then checked.

Glantz tabled an 8-6-5-3-2 low, but it wasn't quite good enough as Arieh had been dealt a pat 8-6-4-3-2 low.

Set of Sevens for Seiver

Limit Hold'em

Scott Seiver check-called a bet from Ofir Mor on a flop of    , then check-called one more on the turn ( ). The pair both checked after the   completed the board, and Seiver showed    for a flopped set of sevens, and Mor mucked his hand.

"What's it like, Scott?" Paul Volpe needled his tablemate, who smiled.
