Silver Doubles Through Sammartino

Dario Sammartino opened for 11,000from the cutoff and from the small blind it was Max Silver who three-bet to 32,500. The big blind folded, Sammartino made the call.

Silver continued for 42,500 on     and Sammartino made the call. The Italian player called the 69,500 Silver bet on the  -turn as well, and they were off to the river.

The   completed the board and Silver pushed his 139,000 stack to the middle. Or wait, he didn't actually shoved the chips in, he just announced all in. Sammartino made the call instantly, but mucked after Silver showed    for a rivered top two.

Don't Call it a Comeback

Benjamin Pollak raised to 11,500 from under the gun, Samay Parikh moved all in for 87,000 in the cutoff, and the action folded back to Pollak, who called.

Parikh improved to a set of sixes on a flop of    , and he couldn't lose when the turn brought the  , but the two would chop with a   on the river.

Yet Another Double

George Danzer doubles

George Danzer open-shoved for 65,000 on the button, and Larry Wright looked him up in the small blind.

The     flop changed very little, but the   spiked on the turn, giving Danzer a leading pair of jacks. The   bricked off on the river, and the German doubled to 133,000 chips.

Ausmus Wins a Race, Doubles

Jeremy Ausmus was all in and at risk preflop for 127,000 holding   , and he was racing against the    of Samay Parikh.

The     flop gave Ausmus an open-ended straight draw to go along with his pair, and although he didn't complete his straight, he held as the turn and river came  ,   respectively.

The 2012 November Niner doubled to 257,000 chipsm while Parikh was crippled to 11,500.

Parikh doubled multiple times after the hand, however, and is back up to 88,000 chips.

Sammartino Takes a Huge Pot from Markin

Leonid Markin tries a bluff?

Leonid Markin checked to Dario Sammartino on a board of     , and the Italian bet 21,000. Markin check-raised to 51,000, Sammartino called, and the river was the  .

Markin led out, firing 130,000, and Sammartino tanked for nearly five minutes before making the call. The Russian was about to open his cards, then mucked when Sammartino showed    for eights and sixes.

Greg Merson Bubbles the $10,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship

Leonid Markin opened to 12,000 under the gun and right next to him Greg Merson shoved all in for about 80,000 in chips. Scott Clements in the small blind shoved all in over the top and big blind Lee Markholt folded. Markin followed Markholt's example and folded his   , Merson and Clements tabled their cards.

While the players jokingly negotiated a true chop, the dealer got underway with the community cards. The     on the flop was still safe for Merson who was at risk, but the   on the turn spelled doom for him. The   on the river was a blank and the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champion made his exit as the last player without some extra money.

The remaining 30 players are all guaranteed $17,793.

Townsend Makes a Huge Bluff on the Bubble

Wade Townsend

Hiren Patel opened for 8,500 from the hijack and found some resistance in the big blind. Wade Townsend made it 31,000 to go, but that sure wasn't the end of it. Patel four-bet to 68,500 and Townsend five-bet to 135,000 after some thinking. Patel made the call and the two of them saw a flop in an already huge pot.

The first three community cards were     and Townsend bet out 85,000. Patel made the call without much thinking, and the dealer burned, and turned the  . Townsend announced all in for about 180,000. In the meantime it was the official bubble, so a lot of players gathered to check what was going on.

"You have it?" asked Patel while he tried to look Townsend in the eyes. Townsend didn't reply.

Patel eventually folded, and now Townsend did react. He gently tabled    for a stone cold bluff and raked in the massive pot.
