Loosli, Kruk and Drinan Among Finalists in Event #83: $10K WSOP Super MILLION$
The last highlight of the 2020 GGPoker World Series of Poker Online Bracelet Events is one step closer to determining a champion and two millionaires will be crowned when the last coveted gold bracelet is awarded. It took more than 11 and a half hours in total to whittle down a field of 899 entries to the final nine in Event #83: $10K WSOP Super MILLION$ and they have all locked up at least $110,389 for their efforts, while the winner will walk away with a top prize of $1,423,049.
Initially slated with a guarantee of $5 million, the High Roller showdown created a prize pool of $8,720,300 which was split among the top 134 spots. Several well-known names in the world of poker have made the cut to remain in contention for poker's most coveted prize.
India's Suraj "M26GreenWood" Mishra tops the counts with a stack of 18,734,404 after a late double against Christopher Kruk, who advanced with the fourth-biggest stack of 11,092,664. Second in chips is 2013 WSOP Main Event 4th place finisher Sylvain "couchpotato" Loosli with 13,858,427 followed by 12,219,728.
World Poker Tour champion Daniyar "AlmaAAta" Aubakirov (9,893,085) and Connor Drinan (9,836,965) are separated by fewer than one big blind and Chris Oliver follows not far behind them with 8,626,407. The two short stacks among the final nine are EPT Main Event champion Kenneth "rebuyguy" Smaron (3,613,536) and Arsenii "BlindPew" Malinov (3,129,784).

Action of the Day
A few hours into the tournament it was already obvious that the $5 million guarantee would be easily surpassed, as the new entries and re-entries kept on coming. Second and third bullets were no rare occasion as the field surpassed 700 entries and ultimately settled on 899 when the registration closed.
Just over one third remained at the next break and the all-in showdowns kept coming at a rapid pace with poker dreams being crushed every other minute on the frantic race towards the money bubble. Some of those that came up short by a few spots were Daniel Dvoress, Fedor Holz, Timothy Adams, Dan Shak, Mikita Badziakouski, Sergio Aido, Patrik Antonius, Mustapha Kanit, Chris Moorman and Jon Van Fleet.
On the money bubble it was Andy "sodiumNa" Jiang that flopped two pair with ace-eight and called the shove of Sylvain "couchpotato" Loosli on a blank turn only to get shown a set of fours. The river bricked and that sent the remaining field into the post-bubble carnage with rapid-fire eliminations.
GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu was among those to settle for a min-cash when his flopped middle pair was no good against pocket kings. Other notables that followed soon after were Adrian Mateos, Upeshka "GrossJeff" De Silva, Artur Martirosian, Mark "Beanbooozled" Herm, Antoine Saout, Joni Jouhkimainen, Nick Schulman and Mark Radoja. Jouhkimainen's final hand was a big flip with ace-king against the pocket queens of Sung Joo "ArtePokerTV" Hyun and the Finn was drawing dead on the turn.
In the late stages of the day, Christopher Kruk and Connor Drinan turned on the heat to become the chip leaders. Kruk cracked the aces of Jerome "gorgiAAs" Finck with pocket kings as he rivered a straight. Julian "DanBiz" Stuer then ran with ace-king into the kings of Kruk and found no help. Joao Vieira also fell victim to the hot run of the Canadian when queens lost a race to ace-king.
Drinan took over the top spot from Kruk when he doubled with aces against the kings of Suraj "M26GreenWood" Mishra, who was left quite short in chips after that. The only time when the action slowed down was with 18 players remaining and on a pay jump, and it was Dan "iStayOn5" Colpoys that missed out on a higher payout when ace-king failed to hold against the ace-queen of Loosli.
Loosli knocked out Michel "CrossfireX" Dattani and Pascal Hartmann to build his stack and one short stack after the other succumbed to the increasing blinds and the final nine were set shortly after. In the meanwhile, Mishra's comeback was complete when pocket jacks held in a flip against the ace-queen of Kruk and play concluded moments later.
All nine remaining players are now on a break until the following Tuesday when the action resumes at 6 p.m. GMT. The blinds will then be 200,000/400,000 with a running ante of 50,000 and the final table will play a fixed amount of hands per level instead.
The last tournament to wrap up the GGPoker portion of the 2020 World Series of Poker Online Bracelet Events will play down to a winner as of 6 p.m. GMT on Tuesday, September 8th, 2020. The final table will be broadcasted with cards up coverage on GGPoker.TV and the PokerNews live reporting will provide all the action from start to finish.
