Kartik "Mandovi" Ved Wins 2020 WSOP Online Event #64: $840 Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold'em ($234,433)
In a little over six hours, Kartik "Mandovi" Ved has captured a WSOP gold bracelet in Event #64: $840 Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold'em. Ved received $131,461 for topping the 2,207-player field and added his own progressive bounty of $102,972 to it for a total prize of $234,433.
The event ran at a breakneck pace all the way until the heads-up, where Ved and Konstantin "makRUSgreaga" Maslak embarked on a surprisingly long heads-up affair despite the event being in a turbo format. After working himself back from a 6-to-1 chip deficit, Maslak even claimed a 2-to-1 lead at some point before Ved took the lead back from the one-time bracelet winner. He then finished it off to deny the Russian a second victory.
It's the sixth bracelet for India, and Ved follows in the footsteps of two-time champ Nipun Java, Nikita Luther, Aditya Sushant, and Abhinav Iyer. The Indian has $377,989 in lifetime winnings on The Hendon Mob and is a regular sight at the WSOP with eight previous cashes and over $272K alone from the festival. The lion's share of that is courtesy of a deep run in last year's WSOP Main Event, where he finished 51st for $173,015. He eclipsed that amount today with the bracelet win.

"Serial Casher" Negreanu Runs Deep Once More
The event promised fireworks with a starting stack of 125 big blinds and just eight-minute levels. By the time the reentry period had ended, nearly half the field was already gone. Among those eliminated early were Brian Rast, Pete Chen, Joao Vieira, Jeff Gross and Kevin Martin, although not all of them left empty-handed after collecting one or more bounties.
GGPoker's unique bubble protection feature — register in time and get your money back if you bubble the event — came into play as Leonard "LottoLarry" Maue, Matthias Eibinger, and Nick "rdcrsn" Maimone all received their entry back from the feature.
And while it's almost sounding like a broken record at this point, among those to cash was once again Daniel Negreanu, who made his 27th (!) cash of the online WSOP — an absolute record — but missed out on the big money yet again and had to settle for twice his buy-in after finishing 95th.
Negreanu shared a table with fellow GGPoker ambassador Felipe Ramos deep in the event and had some SnapCam fun with him along the way.
Final Table Action
The event was five hours in when the final table was reached, where Dan "NeedLuck" Borlan and Maslak started off as the biggest stacks. The final table started with just eight players after a double elimination shortly before, and it would be no "vamo" this time as both Brazilians, Ricardo "Sambalele" Da Silva and Ramos, who had made it to the FT, were the ones to depart from it first.
Jon "JPC123" Clark followed the Brazilians out the door before one of the most crucial hands at the final table followed. In a hand where Ved had raised and Maslak had called. Borlan followed it up by three-bet shoving 30 big blinds holding ace-queen of spades. Ved, second in chips, called the shove for slightly less holding pocket queens. The queens held up and Borlan was eliminated in the subsequent hand.
Maslak took out Tim "TMay420" West next by pipping him with eights against sevens, while Ved used his sizable stack to take down Javier "Marco_damme" Fernandez to start the heads-up with a 6-to-1 lead.
A quick end was expected but it was Maslak who made it a challenge, doubling back into it before even taking over the lead. With Ved trailing 2-to-1, the India doubled with king-queen through Maslak's king-eight before hitting with jack-eight in the final hand against Maslak's king-six to win the gold.
That's it for PokerNews coverage of Event #64 of the series. There are still over 20 WSOP bracelet events remaining, so make sure to check back often to not miss out on any of the action.
