With blinds at 600/1,200/150, Kevin "GoneBananas" Garosshen open-hammed for 92,563 from middle position and Christopher "Mufasa5000" Safaya called off his 27,845 stack from the small blind.

Safaya was ahead until the     flop appeared pairing Garosshen's king.

The   turn didn't change a thing nor did the   that followed on the river as Garosshen won the pot and Safaya re-entered the tournament.

With the blinds still in the same level, Kevin "GoneBananas" Garosshen opened for 2,400 from early position and Loren "BabyJesus" Klein three-bet jammed for 24,205 next to act.

Action folded around to Keith "ThxSimGod" Ferrera who came over the top for 49,166 from the small blind and Garosshen called having both players covered.

Garosshen was ahead and left both his opponent's drawing dead after the     flop gave him a set of cowboys.

The   turn secured the pot for Garosshen as both Klein and Ferrera re-entered the tournament after the   completed the board on the river.

Raymer was behind and connected with the     flop but neither the   turn nor the   river help his has as he re-entered the tournament.

With the blinds at 400/800/100, Michael "HankdaTank" St. John raised to 1,600 from the button and called when Jenny "Mobey" Svancara, two days removed from a final table appearance, three-bet all in for 4,407 from the small blind.

It was a flip and Svancara was looking to improve to stay alive. The     flop gave her counterfeit outs, but it was the   on the turn that would give her the lead.

Unfortunately for her, St. John hit the two outer on the river when the   spiked on the river to give him the full house.

Svancara immediately reloaded back to a 40,000 starting stack.

With blinds at 120/240, Keith "ThxSimGod" Ferrera opened for 675 from late position and Robert "bustinballs" Kuhn defended his big blind.

The      board was checked down to the   river where Kuhn led out for 1,305. Ferrera raised to 4,567 and then called Kuhn's 12,722 three-bet.

Kuhn showed    for a pair of queens but it was no good as he let Ferrera catch up and river a set holding    to win the pot.

The 2009 World Series of Poker stood out in history for several things. It was the second year of the now-defunct November Nine, when Joe Cada became the youngest-ever world champion at 21 after defeating Maryland logger Darvin Moon heads-up. Phil Ivey finished seventh in the event, ensuring massive coverage throughout the Main Event and the final table in November.

While the 2009 Main Event is probably what's remembered most from that year, there was another story brewing that year when Australian professional Jeff Lisandro went on an unprecedented tear in the stud portion of the WSOP, and pulled off a feat that's yet to be matched: winning three stud-events in a single year.

To this date, Lisandro remains the only player to have pulled off that feat in nothing but stud events, and was the first player since Ivey in 2002 to win three bracelets in a single summer.
