An untimely king on the river left Josh Evans eliminated third in the 12th and final gold ring event. Evans needed a victory to earn 50 points and top Ylon Schwarz in the Casino Championship race. He gave Schwartz a sweat, working his way to the final table and well within reach of a bid into the season-ending WSOP National Championship.

Evans got his last 10 big blinds in holding    against David Lin's   . Evans faded the flop and turn, but the river reared the ugly head belonging to the  , giving Lin a winning pair.

Evans earned 80 points toward the Casino Championship, matching Nolan Burton for second. Both players came up short of the 87.5 points earned by Schwartz who recorded first and second-place finishes.

The five remaining players are at their seats and cards are in the air following the one-hour dinner break. We're playing 20,000/40,000 blinds with a 500 ante.

1st: $106,455
2nd: $65,821
3rd: $47,805
4th: $35,311
5th: $26,510

Level 28 draws to a close and the final five players are now on a one-hour dinner break. Cards should be back in the air at approximately 7:30pm CT. Until then, here is where the chip counts stand:

Seat 1: Daniel Lowery - 835,000
Seat 2: Hank Sitton - 510,000
Seat 3: Martin Zentner - 1,645,000
Seat 5: Rob Mariano - 1,335,000
Seat 6: Raymond Weaver - 1,715,000

Monday, September 16, 2013 6:15 PM Local Time

This level we have yet to see an elimination, but we have seen some stacks fluctuate. We saw Daniel Lowery move up over 2 million, possessing roughly a third of the chips in play. We saw Martin Zentner drop under a million only to rally back into six-figure territory.

Now all the stacks are meeting in the middle again. Chip leader Raymond Weaver is sitting on around 1.8 million, but he is less than 500,000 chips ahead of the rest of the field. Meanwhile, Rob Mariano, Zentner and Lowery are all tightly clustered in the middle of the pack with just about 1.1 million each, while Hank Sitton is our short stack with roughly half that, around 580,000 chips.
