Event #11: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Regional Championship - Nationally Televised

Congratulations to Jim Anderson, from Wooster, Ohio, who has become the first Regional Champion of the 2010 World Series of Poker Circuit season.

Anderson came out on top of a tough final table that included notable professionals such as Gabe Patgorski, Bernard Lee, David Sands, Curt Kohlberg, Shannon Shorr and Brandon Adams. Anderson only had about $50,000 in winnings prior to day, but for his four-day effort here in Hammond, Indiana, he will take home $525,449.

Jim Anderson raised to 120,000 and Gabe Patgorski reraised to 360,000 from the big blind. Anderson called and the flop came down Q72.

Patgorski continued with a bet of 215,000 and Anderson called. The turn was the 10 and Patgorski checked.

Anderson checked behind and the river was the Q. Patgorski checked and Anderson checked behind. Patgorski showed A-K and that was good enough to win the pot and move him over the 2.5 million mark.

Gabe Patgorski raised to 100,000 and Jim Anderson called. Both players checked to the river on a board reading KK965 and Anderson bet 130,000.

Patgorski called and showed ace high, which was enough to beat Anderson’s ten high. Patgorski is now just over 2 million in chips.

Bernard Lee moved all in for 710,000 and Gabe Patgorski made the call.

Lee showed 1010 and was racing against Patgorski AK. The board rolled out 953KJ and Lee was eliminated.

Jim Anderson raised to 90,000 on the button and Gabe Patgorski reraised to 300,000 from the small blind. Anderson reraised to 650,000 and after getting a count, Patgorski moved all in.

Anderson called off his 2.4 million and showed JJ. Patgorski was caught with his A6 and failed to outdraw his opponent when the board fell J93QQ.

Anderson now has about 5 million of the nearly 7 million chips in play.

Jim Anderson raised to 90,000 from under the gun and Curt Kohlberg moved all in behind him. Anderson made the call and showed JJ.

Kohlberg revealed A10 and needed a lot of help. The flop of KQ6 gave everyone a sweat, but the turn and river fell 94 to send Kohlberg to the rail. Anderson is now over 2 million in chips.

Gabe Patgorski minraised on the button and Bernard Lee made the call. David Sands then moved all in and Patgorski folded.

Lee then made the call and both players showed down the same hand. AQ for Sands and AQ for Lee. The board fell KJ5QA and the two players chopped up the pot.

Shannon Shorr raised to 72,000 from the button and Gabe Patgorski reraised to 207,000 from the big blind. Shorr thought it over for a few second before announcing that he was all in.

Patgorski instantly called and Shorr knew he was in trouble with his JJ. Patgorski showed AA and they held on a board of 983KK. Shorr is eliminated and Patgorksi is now an overwhelming chip leader with over 3.6 million in chips.

Curt Kohlberg moved all in for 185,000 and Gabe Patgorski made the call from the button. Action folded to David Sands in the big blind and he moved all in to isolate.

Patgorski folded and Kohlberg showed Q10. Sands showed AJ, but it failed to hold as the board fell Q9846. With that pot, Kohlberg tripled up to nearly 600,000 in chips.
