Jim AndersonCongratulations to Jim Anderson, from Wooster, Ohio, who has become the first Regional Champion of the 2010 World Series of Poker Circuit season.

Anderson came out on top of a tough final table that included notable professionals such as Gabe Patgorski, Bernard Lee, David Sands, Curt Kohlberg, Shannon Shorr and Brandon Adams. Anderson only had about $50,000 in winnings prior to day, but for his four-day effort here in Hammond, Indiana, he will take home $525,449.

Patgorski called and showed AClub SuitJClub Suit, but he was crushed by Anderson’s AHeart SuitASpade Suit. The board fell 8Spade Suit7Club Suit3Spade Suit7Spade SuitJHeart Suit and Patgorski was eliminated.

Jim Anderson raised to 120,000 and Gabe Patgorski reraised to 360,000 from the big blind. Anderson called and the flop came down QClub Suit7Diamond Suit2Heart Suit.

Patgorski continued with a bet of 215,000 and Anderson called. The turn was the 10Club Suit and Patgorski checked.

Anderson checked behind and the river was the QDiamond Suit. Patgorski checked and Anderson checked behind. Patgorski showed A-K and that was good enough to win the pot and move him over the 2.5 million mark.

Patgorski called and showed ace high, which was enough to beat Anderson’s ten high. Patgorski is now just over 2 million in chips.
