The second flight of The Main Event drew out a total of 290 entrants to play in this $1,000,000 guaranteed field, this combined with the 254 from yesterday brings the total number of entrants up to 544. All scheduled play was gone through today, bringing the final field down to 35 players, each one of them looking to accomplish the feat that Ian Cohen did towards the end of last year.

Leading the way is Jeremy Joseph who sits with 818,000. The WSOPC ring winner from New York, has spent the better part of 18 years grinding on the tournament circuit. With $2,803,581 in lifetime earnings he has made many sizable final tables, collecting big scores at each whether it be in Florida, California, or Las Vegas. A first place down here would make him a two-time WSOPC ring winner and near him closer to the $3 million in lifetime earnings.

Sitting behind him in the counts is Billy Papadopoulos (672,000) who will be hunting for his first WSOPC ring. Hailing from Massachusetts originally, he has been gunning for his first title for a couple of years, even having a deep run in the 2019 WSOP Seniors Event. With this sizable stack here today, he aims to sit as one of the top stacks of Day 2. A player who knows all to well pressure on the big stage is Darryll Fish (587,000), rounding out the podium. The West Palm Beach champion recovers from his no bag the day prior by sitting as the third biggest stack of the flight. With $5,538,482 in lifetime earnings, he looks to utilitze his wealth of poker knowledge and experience on the felt in Day 2 on Sunday, February 9th at 12:00 PM.

Day 1B Top Ten Chip Counts

  1. Jeremy Joseph - 818,000
  2. Billy Papadopoulos - 672,000
  3. Darryll Fish - 587,000
  4. Raymond Mancini - 554,000
  5. Shouyi Gao - 514,000
  6. Fabrizio Gonzalez - 490,000
  7. Sterling Savill - 484,000
  8. Carlos Bermudez - 458,000
  9. Conor Hannan - 445,000
  10. Art Peacock - 441,000

Fortune did not smile on all today. Many of today’s biggest names found themselves heading to the exit sooner than they would have preferred. Players like WSOP bracelet winners like David Moses, Kyle Julius, and other players like Jake Bazeley, Nadya Magnus, Eric Afriat, Maurice Hawkins, and Jack Nathan will all have to look to tomorrow for a chance in this event. Some players like Hamid Izadi and Loni Hui found cashes but fell just short of the bag.

Play completed all the way through scheduled play, with play ending at the conclusion of Level 17. These 35 players will have the next day off before returning to play at 12:00 PM on Sunday, February 9th, joining the 26 from the other flight. They will return to Level 16 as that was the final level of play from yesterday's flight unless tomorrow's flight hits the hard stop before them.

That will do it for our coverage of Day 1B of the WSOPC Main Event here in Pompano Beach. Be sure to check in with Poker.Org tomorrow for full coverage of Day 1C and stay tuned tonight for full recaps of today's events.

The biggest prize pool of the week out here at the WSOPC in Pompano Beach sees it's second of three flights begin today at 11:00 AM. All the players' will come in with their hopes for sizable money, good stories, and of course the Main Event title and ring.

A total of 254 entrants came out to yesterday's flight. From that starting number only 39 clawed back some piece of the prize pool into their pockets and 26 players still have a shot on Day 2 for the Lion's share of the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Leading the way is Kharlin Sued who sits with 910,000. Rounding out the podium is one of the most experienced players in the field, James Calderaro (pictured) (790,000). The WSOP bracelet winner has cashed for $6,199,028 over the course of his 20 years on the tournament felt.

Players will begin the tournament with 40,000 in chips and blinds last 40 minutes each. A 15-minute break will occur at the conclusion of every three levels. After Level 9 there will be a 60-minute dinner break. Once the players return, they will play another three levels before registration closes. They will then play until the end of Level 17 or until just 10% of the field remains. This is a single re-entry tournament so upon busting, players will have one more chance before they have to move on to the next flight.
