$250 Ladies Event Champion Anna Sunderman
With her husband and friends from the Amarillo Social Club rooting her on, Anna Sunderman’s pocket eights held up against her short-stacked opponent Terry Constantino’s nine-high to win the WSOP Circuit Tulsa $250 Ladies Event.
Sunderman pumped her fist and cheered, then hugged her husband and covered her face, overwhelmed by the emotion of her victory.
In the week and a half of events so far here in Tulsa, we haven’t had a more excited or emotional winner, and it was echoed in her post-win interview.
“I think I’m dreaming; I think I’m going to wake up here in a minute.”
Sunderman actually entered the final table as the shortest stack, but she steadily chipped up until she was heads-up, at which point her friends from her poker club arrived for added support.
“They walked in when I was heads-up, so it made me feel really good. It gave me a lot of energy and encouragement.”

The WSOP Circuit ring and the $5,571 first prize tops her runner-up finish in a WSOP Circuit Ladies Event in Choctaw last January. As well as those prizes, she’s especially excited about the upcoming Tournament of Champions which she’ll have a seat in.
Poker and especially the WSOP have become a big part of Sunderman’s life and she aspires to continue making runs at rings.
“Because I like the WSOP, it’s kind of a bucket list for me to see what I can do. I like to play with the ladies, it’s kind of a different deal than playing with all the men.”
With a Circuit ring now to her name, Sunderman will be heading back to Amarillo a champion and the envy of all her friends at the club.

With the elimination of Ashley Frank in 10th place, the final nine players in the $250 Ladies Event have reached the final table.
Frank was the last remaining previous Circuit ring winner left in the field, meaning one of the final nine ladies will be claiming their first career WSOP Circuit ring and likely their largest career tournament score as well, with $5,571 going to the winner.
Barbara Johnson brings a sizeable chip lead to the table with 601,000 chips, but the most recognizable name remaining is that of Krista Lowery, wife of 15-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Daniel Lowery.
Lowery has final tabled multiple WSOP Ladies events, but has made it no further than 3rd place. She'll have some work to do as she has the third shortest stack at the final table.
Here's how that entire table breaks down.
Seat 1: Linda Wilkerson - 200,000
Seat 2: Krista Lowery - 106,000
Seat 3: Naowarat Hawkins - 87,000
Seat 4: Terry Constantino - 274,000
Seat 5: Wendy Cordiner - 248,000
Seat 6: Anna Beth Sunderman - 96,000
Seat 7: Barbara Johnson - 601,000
Seat 8: Lindy Seitz - 178,000
Seat 9: Laura Matthew - 112,000
Play continues now in Level 15 with blinds of 6,000 / 12,000 with a 12,000 big blind ante.
