After a field that brought in 986 entries and generated a $1,493,790, the final table has been assembled with eight players ready to make the final push to the title, the ring and $257,737 in first-place prize money.
With a final table that boasts 19 total WSOP Circuit rings, a WSOP bracelet and over $10,000,000 in live earnings, whoever ends up sizing their finger for the ring will have climbed a mountain to find themselves at the summit and for anyone of these players, it would be one of the crowning achievements of their career.
Soheb Porbandarwala brings a massive chip lead into the final day with double the 2nd place stack and is currently the clear favorite to be the last man standing with a bracelet and an incredible 11 WSOP Circuit rings already to his name. When play begins, all other players will be looking up at him with intentions of knocking him off his pedestal.
1: Soheb Porbandarwala - 11,120,000
2: Brad Coultas - 6,955,000
3: Hussain Sajwani - 6,130,000
4: Brian Altman - 6,070,000
5: Richard Bai - 3,355,000
6: Adam Greenberg - 2,285,000
7: Jonathan Seely - 2,010,000
8: Eric Adelstein - 1,520,000
All remaining players have a solid shot at the title but the favorite to cut Porbandarwala's run at the championship short has to be Brian Altman who brings a bracelet, 11 rings and $8,000,000 in earnings with him to the finale. With career stats like that, Porbandarwala will certainly be looking to put a stop to Altman's plans to upend Porbandarwala's run.
Every player at the table held the chip lead or close to it at some point on Day 2, including Jonathan Seely who attempted to put some serious distance between himself and the field when he correctly made a huge call for a 6,000,000 chip pot deep on on Day 2 only to watch the board run out a chop. That hand was against Altman and to say the result was disappointing for Seely and the rest of the field would be an understatement because it not only stole a huge chip lead pot from him, but ir kept one of the toughest seats in the tournament in action, helping Altman to make use of the good fortune by ending the day on more than double the chip he had when the pot went down.
While there are long time crushers at the table, some players are chasing the score of their lives with Eric Adelstein, Jonathan Seely and Adam Greenberg having lifetime earnings that would be eclipsed by this one score should one of them happen to find their way to the winner's circle. A win here could mean a life changing sum of money headed to their bank accounts.
Career stats and experience aside, every player at the final table displayed top level play to make their way here and because up that, anyone who plans on leaving with the title will have an uphill battle on their hands and that'd be putting it lightly.
Play kicks off at noon and the cards will fly until a winner is crowned so stay tuned here for updates throughout the day and head over to instant.poker.org for additional coverage from the final table of the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond Main Event!
