Sunday, February 25, 2024 11:47 PM Local Time (about 49 days and 5 hours ago)

David Dowdy put his last 395,000 in preflop and Rubin Chappell called from the big blind.

Chappell:
Dowdy:

The board ran          , when Chappell saw the deuce on the flop he got up from his chair in anger. Dowdy doubled up to nearly 1 million.

Maurice Hawkins walked over from the other table to see what the commotion was and Dowdy just grinned, "I got nine lives."

Dale Roesel (pictured) and Ryan D'Angelo built a pot north of 2 million on a board of          . D'Angelo checked the river, Roesel bet 2 million and D'Angelo went deep into the tank.

After a few minutes, he was visibly pained, reworking the hand and math in his head. He ultimately folded, leaving himself with 1.6 million and Roesel moved up to 7.6 million following the hand.

The field is two players off a pay jump and two table redraw. As such, no one wants to be the next two players eliminated. While their pace of play hasn't slowed much, Tables 4 and 15 have much more deliberate rates of play than Table 5.
Sunday, February 25, 2024 10:45 PM Local Time (about 49 days and 6 hours ago)

We missed all the action but caught all the clock on this hand. The board was           and Matthew Osorio bet 400,000 on the river into a pot of approximately 800,000. Zak VanKeuren went deep into the tank.

After a while, Maurice Hawkins told VanKeuren he had two more minutes before he was going to call the clock on him. VanKeuren acknowledged, apologized and said he was close.

"I've got such a dusty hand," he said out loud. But he finally mucked and said, "Show the bluff."

Osorio obliged and turned up     for a busted diamond draw.

Atlanta restauranteur Fikret Kovac was having a pretty smooth Main Event run...until he wasn't.

He lost a bunch of chips to Rabu Roscot in a Ax Qx vs Ax Jx showdown where Roscot drilled a jack on the river. Then just a couple hands later got in a blind vs blind situation against Andrew Moreno.

Kovac:
Moreno: 5x 5x

The board ran           and Kovac went from the top half of the chip counts to eliminated.

There was over 1 million in the pot on the turn with a board of        . Zak VanKeuren moved all in for 1.46 million and Kovac went deep into the tank. He looked at VanKeuren a few times before folding the   face up.

"I think I had you beat," Kovac said.

VanKeuren showed the   and said, "Then why didn't you call?"

A third player said out loud, "The deadman's hand..." referring to Ax 8x.
